a <br />~_ `~ <br />-3- <br />Board of Appeals - No meeting was held in February. <br />Recreation - Mr. Bennett stated that he did not attend the January <br />or February meeting however minutes of both meetings will be distributed <br />to Council. Mr. Flynn said that the Mayor was to discuss recreation <br />funds with Mr. Relic. Mr. Relic said that perhaps in June, $2,000 may <br />be given to the Recreation Board. <br />MARL - Mr. Flynn advised that Bob Evans and Joyce Barclay were the <br />Mayfield Village representatives to MARC. <br />OLD BUSYNESS: <br />Resolution 968: Acquisition of Property at Northwest corner of SOM <br />Center Road and Wilson Mills Road by Right of Eminent Domain. (Third <br />Reading - continued) Deferred until March meeting. <br />Ordinance 76-35, AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE <br />ELECTORATE OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE MUNICIPAL CHARTER (re Salary of <br />Council Members) <br />Mr. Grogan advised that there is a possibility of a State primary in <br />June therefore amendment could be put on the June ballot with no special <br />election costs to the Village. <br />Mr. Barclay stated he was totally opposed to the Amendment. He said at <br />the time the Charter was written that everything was very appropriate <br />and that no changes would be necessary for at least 5 years, it was un- <br />fortunate to go to the people for such a small item. <br />Mr. Bennett suggested holding off passage of this Ordinance until we <br />know for sure that there will be a State election. <br />Mr. Flynn stated that Council salaries have not been adjusted since 1967. <br />Mr. Grogan stated that it takes 5 votes for Ordinance passage which <br />will equalize salary for all Councilmen and therefore give the people <br />a chance to express their feelings. <br />Passage deferred until March meeting. <br />NEb7 BUSINESS <br />Mr. Grogan, seconded by Mr. Bordonaro, made a motion :that the Village <br />Engineer send a letter to the Cleveland Water Department requesting that <br />they extend the 24°' water main down Wilson Mills to SOM Center, for the <br />public health and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Messrs., Barclay, Bennett, Bordonaro, Busa, Flynn, <br />Grogan and Schulte <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Mr. Hovancsek will write a letter to the Cleveland Water Department. <br />
