The additional man and equip-
ment were both appropriated in the budget and were not taken from
any other department. In speaking from past experience as Mayor ~~~~~ ~~'`,
and Council member, why all of a sudden do we need 24 hour dis-
patching, many communities comparable to our size do not have open
door policy. However; Mr. Bennett stated that the Van
has 1200 hours registered.
Mr. Relic asked if record kept is actual 1200 hours?
Chief Hejcl replied it is estimated time.
Mr. Buses said that the Van is rusted out and is a converted bakery
truck.
Mr. Barclay said that in a report made by the Fire Chief in 1974,
he listed this Van as in good condition, how can it get so bad in
such a short time?

i~]
Mr. Flynn said that the Fire Dept. cannot touch the police ambu-
