~:~ -4- Roll Call: AYES: Messrs., Bennett, Busa, Flynn and Grogan NAYS: Messrs., Barclay and Schulte Motion NOT Carried Ordinance Defeated Mr. Grogan said he thought it was a shame this particular issue couldn't have been left up to the people. Ordinance 77-19, entitled 01AN ORDINAriCE MAILING A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION OF $11,420.00 FROM THE GENERAL FUND TO THE SAFETY DEPARTMENT FOR THE EMPLOYMENT OF ONE ADDITIONAL FULL-TIME FIRE- MAN", introduced by Mr. Flynn, was given Third Reading. Mr. Schulte, seconded by Mr. Busa, made a motion to pass Ord. 77-19. Mr. Bennett asked if the figure in this Ordinance was the current rate and would it be paid in full if someone was hired and served less than the full year? Mr. Relic said the Pay Ordinance reflected the amount to be paid and a partial pay would be made, according to time served. Roll Call: AYES: Messrs., Barclay, Bennett, Busa, Flynn, Grogan and Schulte NAYS: None Motion Carried Ordinance Passed Ordinance 77-20, APPROPRIATION OF PARTMENT FOR THE DECLARING AN EME: Third Reading. entitled; "AN ORDIDTANCE MAKING A SUPPLEMENTAL p=: $8,085 FROM THE GENERAL FUND TO THE SAFETY DE- EMPLOYMENT OF A RADIO-DISPATCHER, CLASS B, AND 2GENCY11, introduced by Mr. Barclay was given Mayor Beebe said the need for an 8:00 P.M. Dispatcher is urgent and urges Council to pass the Ordinance. Mr. Grogan said the Village has an answering service and tondered if there was a real need for this Dispatcher. Mr. Busa questioned the Mayor's endorsement of the two previous Ordinances, and wondered if he had intentions of veto. Mayor Beebe said he certainly wouldn't urge passage and turn around and veto. He said funds were available now and that is why he felt it should be passed. Mr. Barclay, seconded by Mr. Schulte, made a motion to pass Ord. 77- 20.
