0 <br />~.~~• <br />-4- <br />PUBLIC SAFETY - Mr. Flynn advised that on October 20th the firefighters <br />test will be given. He hopes that a full time firefighter can be appointed <br />within 30 days. <br />PUBLIC SERVICE & PUBLIC UTILITIES - Mr. Busa reported that negotiations <br />are in process. <br />ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD - Mr. Barclay advised the regular meeting <br />of the ARB will be held on Thursday, October 21, 1977. <br />CEMETERY - Mr. Bordonaro wished to~thank Mr. Krause for the fine job he <br />has done in maintaining the cemetery grounds. A new map of the lots is <br />being made and perhaps can be put in a frame. He also said that the <br />cemetery has been hit with a Sewer Maintenance Charge based on frontage. <br />Mr. Bordonaro checked several sources for this charge since the cemetery <br />has no running water, but has not been able to receive a definite answer. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said they cannot be assessed without a benefit. <br />COUNCIL OF COUNCILS - Mr. Bordonaro said he was unable to attend the first <br />meeting held in September. <br />Planning and Zoning - Mr. Schulte read the minutes of the October 10, 1977 <br />meeting. <br />Mayor Beebe said that two letters were distributed to Council from residents <br />favoring Heinen's proposal. <br />A lengthy discussion followed re the variance granted - Heinen's pro- <br />posal. Mr. Schulte advised a special P & Z meeting will be held on" <br />Wed, October 19th at 7:30 P.M. to discuss variance. <br />Mr. Byrnes once again stated that no one body can restrict the powers <br />of P & Z per Charter or Ordinance. P & Z should have their meeting to make <br />a decision to approve or reject the conditions of the variance granted by <br />the Board of Appeals. <br />BOARD OF APPEALS.- Mr. Schulte had no report. <br />RECREATION - Mr. Bennett asked Council to authorize payment of $300 to the <br />Recreation Board for the Pumpkin Hunt. Council agreed. <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />Ordinance 77-30, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL ORDINANCE NO. 77-4, AN <br />ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE COMPENSATION OF THE LAW DIRECTOR." <br />Mr. Flynn, seconded by Mr. Bennett, made a motion to pass Ordinance 77-30. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Messrs.-, Bennett, Busa, Flynn and Grogan <br />NAYS: Messrs., Barclay, Bordonaro, and Schu~ltec~ <br />Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Passed <br />
