Mr. John Relic our Finance Director has done a <br />very fine job and should be congratulated! The audit took eight (8) <br />months and will cost $7,500.00. <br />The following questions were directed to Mr. Relic: <br />(1) The B & A <br />has been spent <br />(2) How close <br />(3) Are there <br />and how much? <br />(4) The B & A <br />BEFORE it take <br />Committee <br />in each f <br />are we to <br />any funds <br />Committee <br />s place. <br />~ ~~ <br />requests a written report as to how much money <br />und? . <br />the appropriation in each fund? <br />over their appropriation, if so, which fund <br />would like to be made aware of ANY overspending <br />(5) Who authorized the expenditure of money for the addition to the <br />Service Building? Mr. Relic replied he had approved $1,500 for lumber <br />for a storage area addition to the present Service Bldg. Money obtained <br />from General Fund. <br />(6) How much? <br />(7) Is Larry Flynn doing the electrical work? <br />(8) Why wasn't Council consulted before this new addition and the money <br />involved became a reality? <br />Sdunds like one or two man rule again. Committees seem to be a waste. of <br />time. <br />The following questions were directed to Mr. Byrnes. <br />(1) Were the expenses incurred by you or your firm in the Larry Flynn case <br />covered by your retainer? <br />Mr. Byrnes relied "Yes" <br />(2) How much are the total charges to this Village from your firm for <br />the Larry Flynn case? <br />Mr. Byrnes replied, "not available at this time." <br />(3). Mr. Byrnes or Mr. Relic, as Chairman of the Budget and Appropriations <br />Committee, I request that all costs and legal fees that are presented to <br />this Village for payment pertaining to the Larry Flynn case be turned over <br />to this Committee for examination. , <br />(4) Mr. ..Relic, I also request that NONE and I repeat, none of the expenses <br />presented to this Village for payment by anyone pertaining to the Larry <br />Flynn case not be paid, until approved by this Committee. I speak for the <br />majority of this Council. <br />This is the second time this year that this Council has been asked to pay <br />unauthorized legal fees and I think it should stop. End of.
