~9~~ he had to inform everyone of Police Chief Shortle's desire to leave Mayfield Village and would be moving to Florida sometime in July. Mayor Beebe read the news release and asked that it be attached and part of the minutes. Mayor Beebe read an articleffrom "Plas's Press" written by the editor, Michael Bordonaro. Council President's Comments: Mr. Busa stated that it also grieved him to learn of Chief Shortle's intention to leave and wished him much success in the future. STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS: Budget & Appropriations: - Mr. Bennett stated there was nothing to report. A meeting would be held on Thursday, April 20th at 8:00 P.M. to discuss salary requests. Chief Hejcl, Chief Shortle, Gus Amendola, Mayor Beebe and Committee Members were asked to attend. Public Safety: - Mr. Flynn said there was no report. He would like to express his recommendation that Council pass Ordinance 78-17 and also accept the bid for the new Fire Vehilce. Public Service and Public Utilities: - Mr. Flynn said there was nothing to report on the Beta Drive Situation except that Mr. Hovancsek has been in touch with Mr. Arnold Miller of C.E.I. and so far has had no re results to his correspondence. Mr. Busa stated that Mr.. Relic had requested Council approve payment to William Jackman in the amount of $903.00 which is the balance due for the engineering fee on the Wilson Mills Traffic Signalization. Mr. Bordonaro asked if the amount had been budgeted. The reply was yes. Mr. Grogan „ seconded by Mr. Bordoanro, made a motion to authorize payment of the invoice in the amount of $903.00 Roll Call: AYES: All NAYS: None Motion Carried Authorization Given Architectural Review Board:- Mr. Amendola reported on the meeting of April 6, 1978. Cemetery: - Mr. Borodonaro read a letter the Trustees received from Steve Sebesta, the Coun~tyySanitary Engineer, in reference to a Sewer charge to M.U.C. and reported that an exemption had been grantdd for future assessments but wasn't sure if the back assessments would be canceled. He thanked Council for their indication that these charges would be pair paid if he wasn~~t able to receive exemption. He commented that getting the exemption for future assessment was a major feat in itself. Mr. Busa commented Council appreciated Mr. Bordonaro's efforts and was pleased with a job well done.
