~9~~ <br />he had to inform everyone of Police Chief Shortle's desire to leave <br />Mayfield Village and would be moving to Florida sometime in July. <br />Mayor Beebe read the news release and asked that it be attached and <br />part of the minutes. <br />Mayor Beebe read an articleffrom "Plas's Press" written by the editor, <br />Michael Bordonaro. <br />Council President's Comments: <br />Mr. Busa stated that it also grieved him to learn of Chief Shortle's <br />intention to leave and wished him much success in the future. <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />Budget & Appropriations: - Mr. Bennett stated there was nothing to <br />report. A meeting would be held on Thursday, April 20th at 8:00 P.M. <br />to discuss salary requests. Chief Hejcl, Chief Shortle, Gus Amendola, <br />Mayor Beebe and Committee Members were asked to attend. <br />Public Safety: - Mr. Flynn said there was no report. He would like to <br />express his recommendation that Council pass Ordinance 78-17 and also <br />accept the bid for the new Fire Vehilce. <br />Public Service and Public Utilities: - Mr. Flynn said there was nothing <br />to report on the Beta Drive Situation except that Mr. Hovancsek has <br />been in touch with Mr. Arnold Miller of C.E.I. and so far has had no re <br />results to his correspondence. <br />Mr. Busa stated that Mr.. Relic had requested Council approve payment <br />to William Jackman in the amount of $903.00 which is the balance due <br />for the engineering fee on the Wilson Mills Traffic Signalization. <br />Mr. Bordonaro asked if the amount had been budgeted. The reply was yes. <br />Mr. Grogan „ seconded by Mr. Bordoanro, made a motion to authorize payment <br />of the invoice in the amount of $903.00 <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Authorization Given <br />Architectural Review Board:- Mr. Amendola reported on the meeting of <br />April 6, 1978. <br />Cemetery: - Mr. Borodonaro read a letter the Trustees received from <br />Steve Sebesta, the Coun~tyySanitary Engineer, in reference to a Sewer charge <br />to M.U.C. and reported that an exemption had been grantdd for future <br />assessments but wasn't sure if the back assessments would be canceled. <br />He thanked Council for their indication that these charges would be pair <br />paid if he wasn~~t able to receive exemption. He commented that getting <br />the exemption for future assessment was a major feat in itself. <br />Mr. Busa commented Council appreciated Mr. Bordonaro's efforts and was <br />pleased with a job well done. <br />
