2 `% `3 <br />L ~ <br />finalized their plans for games, balloon races, fireworks, re- <br />freshments etc. Any Councilman who could give a hand would be <br />appreciated. A circular will be going to the Villagers. <br />Mayor Beebe met earlier with the Civil Service Commission and a <br />representative from Western Reserve to make plans for testing to <br />fill the vacancy when Chief Shortle leaves July 21st. He hopes <br />that we will Have a tremendous turn out for his party July 22nd. <br />Law Director - Mr. Feneli reported on an article in the Plain Dealer, <br />June 16th, stating that the City of Cleveland had transferred 17.8 <br />million dollars from the Water Department to the General Operating <br />Fund. Mr. Avery felt that the article was self explanatory. <br />Village Engineer - Mr. Hovancsek is reviewing the plans for Aintree <br />North Subdivision Phase II. He is still badgering the contractor <br />to complete Phase I. <br />No comment from County Engineer, Sebasta. <br />Fire Department - Chief Hejcl thanked Mayor Beebe for attending and <br />taking pictures of the Paramedic Graduation. <br />Police Department - Sergeant John Jay attended the Council Meeting <br />Building & Service - Mr. Amendola reported that the concrete rubble <br />will be removed from under the Myotte bridge. We have a couple of <br />very nice dogs - a pure bred Boxer and a German Shepard pup. <br />Councilman Bennett - asked if we were going into executive session, <br />Mr. Hovancsek has prepared plans. Thanked Council for accepting <br />the wage schedule. <br />Councilman Boger - apologized for being late. <br />Councilman Grogan - had talked to Arnold Edelman, our former Law <br />Director - sent regards to everybody. He would like the Law Dept. <br />to give us some kind of memorandum on the recent Supreme Court opin- <br />ion making municipalities liable under Federal and Civil Right Suits. <br />Wants to know the effects of this decision. <br />Mr. Avery replied that he would as soon as th.~y receive their advance <br />sheet. <br />Mr. Grogan was glad to see aaletter from Gus to Mr. Hovancsek on <br />Oak ton Circle - su~Splemental drainage. Reported the blowing up of <br />a mail box, urged enforcing of curfew. <br />Council recessed for executive session at 10:25 P.M. <br />Meeting reconvened at 11:00 P.M. <br />Mr. Bennett, seconded by Mr. Boger, made the motion to authorize <br />the Law Director to release Mount Vernon Industrial Park Corporation <br />from the Palermo lawsuit. <br />
