~~n <br />Resolution 78-36, entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION ON THE <br />OCCASION OF THE RETIREMENT OF WILLIAM A. SHORTLE AS CHIEF OF POLICE." <br />Introduced by Mayor Beebe and Council as a Whole. <br />Mayor Beebe read the Resolution with comments that Chief Shortle <br />had attended quite a number of meetings over the past years and <br />expressed his appreciation to him for his past services; Council <br />echoed the Mayors sentiments. <br />Mr. Boger, seconded by Mr. Bennett, made a motion to pass Res. 78-36. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Resolution Passed <br />GENERAL COMMENTS: <br />Mr. Flynn questioned the appointment of Sgt. Litman as Acting Chief. <br />Mayor Beebe said a letter had been circulated to Council in regard to <br />this and since the subject had been brought up, read the letter to public. <br />Mr. Bordonaro complimented the Mayor on his recent issue of the V.O.V. <br />Mr. Relic expressed his best wishes to the Chief on his retirement. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said he had received a letter from the C.R.S.D. in re to <br />the Beech Hill Pumping Station indicating that the easterly facility <br />study is nearing completion. Two Alternates - (1) To make improvements <br />to present system or (2) Design another, larger facility. <br />Chief Shortle expressed mixed feelings about leaving. <br />Mr. Amendola had the following comments: Catch Basins on Hickory Hill <br />have been repaired - Supplementary sewer work off Oakton Cr. still has <br />to be approved by Council, this information was submitted to Council <br />months ago and asked for action by next Caucus - Service Dept. was on <br />tlie-agenda under P.S./P.U. Committee but nothing developed and requested <br />time before the next Caucus~to discuss the needed Snow Removal Equip. <br />Mr. Busa stated that time would be allotted before the meeting of 7/25/78. <br />Mr. Bennett echoed Mr. Relic's comments re Chief Shortle's retirement. <br />Mr. Flynn commented on the results received from the C.R.S.D. and thanked <br />Mr. Hovancsek for his efforts. <br />Mr. Grogan commented on a "Homes" brochure in re to a map showing the <br />Cleveland area and stated he had spoken to the editor because M.V. had <br />not been listed - happy to report that latest copy showed M.V. <br />Meeting recessed into Executive Session at 9:25 P.M. - Meeting reconvened <br />at 10:30 P.M. for an adjournment roll call. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />~~~~ <br />MAYOR <br />~~ <br />NCIL- E DENT <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL <br />
