{ t'. ~ <br />~t U ` <br />SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL <br />Village of Mayfield Village <br />August 29, 1978 <br />The Council of Mayfield Village met in Special Session on Tues- <br />day, August 29, 1978 at 8:07 P.M. in the Village Hall, pursuant <br />to Special Meeting notices delivered to Council on August 25, 19780 <br />President, Vince Busa presided. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given. <br />Members Present: Messrs., Bennett, Bordonaro, Busa, Flynn and <br />~rcc ~:-. Grogan <br />Absent: Mrs. Hanus and Mr. Boger <br />Also present were: Mayor Beebe, L.D. Guerin Avery, Mr. Amendola <br />Mr. Foltz, Chief Hejcl and Mr. Hovancsek <br />Mr. Busa stated the purpose of the meeting was for consideration <br />of Ordinances 78-34, 78-37, 78-38, 78-39, 78-40, 78-41 and any <br />other matter that may come before Council. <br />Ordinance 78-34, entitled.: "AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE REGULATING°:1 <br />SOLICITATIONS AT RESIDENCES WITHIN~~'THE VILLAGE AND AMENDING CHAPTER <br />.739 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES", introduced by Mr. Bordonaro - Third <br />Reading. <br />A general discussion was held on the ordinance with Mr. Grogan stating <br />there was a need for further review, preferablyYr by committee, since <br />there was no emergency. He indicated there's no soliciting taking <br />place as far as he knew. <br />Mayor Beebe stated the Police had documented proof of solicitation <br />in the Village and urged passage for protection of the residents. <br />Mr. Busa stated this ordinance was better than the last and urged <br />passage. <br />Mr. Avery stated the~~ ordinance the.Village has at present is not <br />defensible, as indicated in the letter sent to Council. Therefore, <br />the Village Prosecutor, the arresting officers and the residents <br />are unprotected. <br />Mr. Busa agreed with Mr. Grogan's suggestion for Committee review, <br />indicating Mr. Bennett and Mr. Grogan should review the Ordinance <br />and report to Council on their findings and amendments could be made <br />at a later date if preferred, but, for now, there is a definite need <br />and asked for a motion. <br />Mr.~Bordonaro, seconded by Mr. Busa, made a motion to pass Ordinance <br />7834. <br />
