.,,_ ~
L ~.1
Mr. Iafelice said this is the first action he has taken other
than trying to reason with Mr. In~ber but he's impossible.
Mr. Busa asked Steve what percent of the list on Phase I is in-
complete? Mr. Hovancsek replied abc~.ut 65/ is still incomplete
of those items listed inn his letter of August 28th.
Mr. Busa said if we can't get them to do anything, maybe we
should subpoena them to come before Council and P & Z and dic-
tate what they have to do and when.
The residents questioned if it would be open to the public and
they could hear all sides of the story. Mr. Busa suggested the
residents standby and if theri attendance was desired, ~some:one
would notify them. Nothing could be settled at a shouting match.
Mr. Busa asked Mr. Hovancsek to write a letter and give them three
days to respond. This would give the Village documented proof in
case of future litigation. Mayor Beebe directed a question to
Assistant Law Director, Mr. Feneli, re the possibility of stopping
all work until the punch list is complete.
Mr. Amendola questioned the stopping of all work as ther are several
builders doing construction in Aintree North not just Peoples Homes.
Mr. Busa suggested a more diplomatic approach be used and asked
Mr. Fex:eli to prepare a letter giving the contractor 72 hours to
comply with the punch lists. Mr. Hovancsek is to inform Mr. Avery
of additional iteans to be completed over and akyove those listed in
his August 28th letter.
It was questioned if Caplan is aware of the existing problems and
Mr. Hovancsek confirmed tha-~.: he had attended a meeting held last
November.
Mr. Mike Farinacci, of 6897 Wildwood Trail, said he was up to his
knees in water in his basement and this should have priority on the
list.
Mayor Beebe said he wanted action by Friday and the residents in
attendance this evening would be informed of what was ..being done no
later than Friday.
A Resident stated the Mayor had made a good point earlier when he
asked that all work be stopped. The stopping of future homes is
not going to do any good for_ the ones who have the problems now.
Mr. Bennett questioned Mr. .Hovancsek's.statement re the possibiltiy
of the downspouts being tied in with the sewers. He has heard this
same thing for a good many years. If this is a possibility, why
can't we have these inspected before they are covered? Who is in
charge of. this inspection? Mr. Amendola replied that he was and he
would be very apologetic if any of these lines are cross connected.
