2.
constitutional you will not charge the village for defend-
ing it: (Mr. Edelman answereds "It is constitutional.)
Fourthly, Aintree Park,;is that a street that would be in-
cluded here: Has anyone talked with the Heinen people a-
bout their plans. A Heinen°s store would be an asset to
- the community. Mr. Bordonaro has commercial:property with
a driveway on a residential street, is it safe in assuming
then that Mr. Bordonaro will not have to voluriteer closing
the driveway on Seneca Road. First of all, this ordinance
could be applied to existing situations or not: (Mr. Bord-
onaro answereds "I might if this is a valid way to go and
prevent a hazard.")o
Tim Kenworthy, 6754 Sandalwood Drive: "As long as you:_: are
being questioned, Mr. Bordonaro, you would_also oppose
Heinens b.ecause you would be a competitor to them?" (Mr.
Bordonaro answereda "They have an easement that goes out
to Wilson I+!lills Rd. "
Tom Datil7.o, 6706 Sandalwood Drive: "Mr. VanCuren, are
you a residential or commercial taxpayer? (Mr. Van Curen
answered: "No, not residential."
Mr. Sam Stein, 737 Butternut Rd.: "The only street that
has commercial is Seneca. Now with respect to asking some
one who happens to be on council, that particular type of
question is not.applicable. (This was in answer to a
question by Nlr. Van Curen about how long has the zoning
on Seneca been on the books?). •.? .
Mr. Smith: Mre Stein makes an excellent:`_point. Master
Plan study is under way for the better part of the year.
We really don't know what is going to happen. His point
is well taken in that it is not known how the area will
developv How many-more residential type streets may want
to connect to arterial streets. Should be strictly con-
trolled. This is a safety1bazard.
Mr. Tom Datillos "One more suggestion to make relative to
the school guard posted at the corner. Is there any way
you can take a survey of the children who walk up=i.and
down Sandalwood Drive several times a day and some of
these children are 5 years old?"
Mr.-Schmidt: "Mr. Edelman, if the ordinance is passed
in,its present form would it also include the Sandalwood
area?"
Ndr. Edelman: "I have doubts if it would be retroactive
to the Sandalwood area. The Planning and Zaning Com-
mission has disapproved it. This ordinance would not
be retroactive.
