I <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />Village.of Mayfield <br />April 17, 1972 <br />The Cauncil of the Village oP Mayfield met in regular session at May- <br />field Village Hall on Monday, April 17, 1972 at 8:08 p.m., Mayor Robert <br />G. Beebe, pres3.ding. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given. <br />Mayor Beebe prefaced the meeting by stating that we shall henceforth <br />have an open one-half hour discussion prior to the start of the official <br />meeting. The Open Caucus on Wednesdays prior to Council Meetings has <br />had a smalZ attendance by villagers but we are hopeful that it will <br />increase in time. <br />Mr. Schulte: What is CEI doing just before the freeway? Mayor Beebe <br />ans: CEI currtntly is planning for cables underground from that point <br />to SOM Center Rd. Mr. Hovancsek ans: CEI is working approximately <br />40' in Mayfield under its present set up. Are just abaut done with <br />the underground work and are not going down to SOM at this time. <br />Gouncilman Schmidt: They have relocated the sidewalk on the north <br />side af the bridge on both sides of the pillars auld snowplowing does <br />not cover the sidewalk being put inside the pillars. I4r. Hovancsek <br />_ urill look.into this. <br />^ Mrs. Prior: Mr. Hovancsek; what does the million gallon ho]ding tank <br />hold for the proposed si$e;on Beech Hili? Mr. Hovanesek ans: Halding <br />' tank for sanitary facility. <br />Mrs. Prior: What's this accommodating that we don't already have? <br />Mr. Hovanesek ans: By-pass into the stream. It is pumped and treated <br />at the City of Cleveland facility before entering Lake Erie. <br />Mayor Beebe: There will be a meeting shortly and he personally looks <br />upon it as a"stop gap1° measure. They are not going along with otar re- <br />commendations, such as auxiliary power and landscaping. <br />Mr. Florian Rickey: Beta Drive is becoming the village dump. tire <br />there any clean-up plans for this area? Mayor Beebe ans: There wili <br />be a crack down. I've taken air and land photos during the past week. <br />Mr.,Foltz, Road Foremanl'is aware oi the clean-up project. <br />Mr. Kreckel: What about the paving and repairing of roads? Mayor <br />Beebe ans: Mr. Hattanesek ma&e a.check on asphalt streets and they <br />will be done on a priority sequenee this summer depending upon <br />finances. A gentlemen asked: Are mini bi.kes ailowed on public properties? They <br />-- are used on the Center School playground and I ean foresee an accident <br />with a pedestrian ehild. Chief Shortle ans: They are unlawful on <br />public grounds and public roads. He will check into the playground use.
