2. <br />seconded by Mr. Schmidt; made a.motion to accept the change of the meet- <br />ing night of the Garden Club: Roll Call: A LS: NIessrs. Boger, Bordnnaro, <br />Braun, Davis and Schmidt. NAYS: None. <br />Motion Carried <br />Condominiums on SOM Center Rd.: Councilman Bordonaro stated that the <br />$arages for these condominiums appear to be a density factor and would <br />like this matter researched: N1r. Hovancsek will research it. Mayor <br />stated ordinance will be reviewed: He feels that fire and parking are <br />a consideration. <br />IVE-GJ BUSINESS: <br />Ma.yfield P.ecreation Park: Councilman Braun made a summation of the pro- <br />posal to date. He praised the committee for their hard work and stated <br />384 returns (47% response) out of a possible 835 postal cards mailed to <br />residents. 4de have a land option at U3;000.00 per acre on a total area <br />of 700' x 24001: Mayor Beebe stated that it is being resolved in an ex- <br />tremely democratic way, by ballot box vote. <br />RESOLUTION #819: Mrs Braun, seconded by Mr: Schmidt, introduced RESOLU- <br />TION #$19, Entitled: " A RESOLUTION I7ETERMINING TO SUBMIT TO THE ELECTORS <br />OF THE VILLAGE OF MAYFIELD THE QUESTION OF ISSUING BONDS FOR THE PURPOSE <br />OF PROVIDING RECREATIONAL FACILITIES FOR THE VILLAGE, INCLUDING ACQUISI- <br />TION OF THE SITE TaREOF, AND CONSTRUCTION _AND EQUIPMENT OF S4JIMMING, <br />Z`ENNIS, BASEBALL AND SOFrBALL, BASKETBAI,L, SICATING, AND OTHER RECREATION- <br />E1L FACILTTIES FUR ADULTS AND JUVENILES." <br />Discussion followed: Mr. Busa: "What about provisions to inaintain it; <br />soil borings, fencing the park to keep out non-members, financing of <br />required roads, non-dedicated road therein; questioned the accuracy of <br />the depth of the plot of ground, swamp and asked council for non-inP <br />volvement as it is the wrong place, wrong size and wrong time finan- <br />cially." <br />Mr. Edelman: "aDecision years ago was that the property owner would dedi- <br />cate the roadway to the county on the condition that WPA money could be <br />obtained. It was dedicated but never acCepted so it is still private <br />property." <br />Councilman Braun: "A11 of this was brought out at the Open Hearing on <br />July 11." <br />Councilman Schmidt: 'PThe need justifies the means: Between now and <br />election time many of these questions will be answered and NIr. Busa <br />would have had a different attitude if he had attended the July 11 <br />Open Hearing. <br />Mayor Beebe: "!NIr. Busa came up with some valid points." <br />Councilman Braun: "Recreation Committee is taking a step forward. It <br />should be done now and plan for the future." <br />Mr. Braun, seconded by Mr-. Schmidt, made a motion to suspend the rules . <br />of law requiring a resolution to he read on three separate occasions.
