No bids received on the ( snow removal; however, Mr. Jim Murphy, who did the plowing last year, I approached the Village and quoted the same rate of $11.00 per hour. Total cost for services last year was $484.50. Nr. Boger, stated our Ordinance 814 requires people sha11 be responsi.bl.e for cleaning their sidewalks after 9:00 a.m. and most do so after that hour; therefore, it was agreed not to enforce the Ordinance but have Mr. Murphy con- tracted for the snow removal including sidewalks on GJilsons Mil1s and SOM Center for the safety of the school chil.dren. A bi.d notice not required as long as the total cost for the year does not exceed $1500. Mr. Boger, seconded by Mr. Davis, motioned to authorize contracting Mr. Jim Murphy for the Villagets snow removal services, as directed by the Service Department. Ro11 Call: AYES: Messrs. Boger, Bordonaro, Braun, & Davis NAYSa None Motion Carried Police levy renewal of 1.6 milZs: Previous levy was 1.9 but was reduced by the County Auditors. The amount per year a.s $26,000 for paying the police salaries. Mr. Davis commented that origi.nally the levy was higher for four policemen and now it has decreased but covers seven poliCemen and urged the people to vote for its renewal on election day. The Mayor requested Council's approval on the appointment of Bob Fowler and Haxry Krause as part time firemen. Mr. Boger, seconded by Mr. Braun, motioned to confirm the appointments.
