MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />Village of Mayfield <br />July 16, 1973 <br />The Council of the Village of Mayfield met in regular session at Mayfield <br />Village Hall on July 16, 1973 at 8:05 pom. Mayor Beebe presided. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given. <br />Roll Call: Present: Mayor Beebe, Messrs. Bordonaro, Davis <br />Prager & Schulte <br />Absent: Mr. Leech <br />Also present weze Messrs. Byrnes, Hovancsek, Clerk-Treasurer Relic, Chief <br />Hejcl, Les Foltz and Lou Hovancsek. <br />Comments from the floor: <br />Richard Schanfarber, 6719 5andalwood Drive: Asked for interpretation of <br />Ordinance 73-7 re parking of recreatioaal vehicles. Does it allow the owner <br />of a boat for example, to wash or load on his own property and what is en- <br />forcement. According to Ordinance it does not permit the vehicle to be <br />"placed" on the property for an,y time at all. Mr. Byrnes replied the Ordinance <br />was written to be taken literally as it reads as Council's intent was to adopt <br />a strict control. Mr. Schanfarber requested Council to allow overnight storage <br />or at least some leeway. Council agreed to discuss at the conclusion of ineeting <br />and so advise the Police Department as to the enforcement. <br />Vince Busa, 6823 Hickory Hill: As Chairman of the Charter Commission asked <br />Council if the Commission could engage their own attorney, engage the services <br />of the Council's Solicitor, or have Council appoint an attorney. He also in- <br />vited the Council President to attend the next Charter Commission meeting July 26 <br />and would like a Councilman to attend all the meetings to convey Council's feelings <br />Mr. Busa suggegted the Commission work with the Council. He also asked if Council <br />would pass a Resolution giving the Commission some money for expenditures. <br />Mr. Byrnes advised Council should not interfere with the business of the Charter <br />Commission but can authorize a given amount of money for its use and consequently <br />choose its own attorney. Mr. Byrnes was.asked by Mre Busa if he would consider <br />nomination by the Commission for counsel to which Mr. Byrnes replied he would be <br />available but would have to consider Council's feelings. <br />Mr. Relic Stated the Commission should not obligate the Village for any money <br />until funds are appropriated. <br />Mr. Kellogg, 733 Butternut Drive: Reiterated Mr. Schanfarber's comments on the <br />parking of recreational vehicles and offered his services to the Village if a <br />committee were organized to study the Ordinance as he was past President of tHe <br />Hilltop Campers Group and is vitally interested and concerned in the subject. <br />Mr. Philip Strunk, 741 S.O.M. Center Road: Mr. Strunk stated he was still waiting <br />to have his property reseeded a&f, the berm repaired in front of his house. At <br />this point the traffice is going off the road and onto his yard.
