MINIITES OF T?iE REGULAR MEETING <br />Village of Mayfield <br />1 March 18, 1974 <br />' The Council of the Village of Mayfield met in regular session at the Village <br />Hall on March 18, 1974 at 8:13 pmm., Mayor Leech presided. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given. Roll Call: Present: Mayor Leech, Messrs. Barclay, Bennett, Bordonaro, <br />Mrs. Negrelli and Mr. Prager. <br />Absent: Mr. Schulte <br />Also present were Messrs. Byrnes, Hovnacsek, Relic, Chiefs Hejcl and Shortle; <br />Gus Atnendola and Les Foltz. <br />The Mayor asked for comments from the floor; however, there being none, that <br />aegment of the meeting concluded. <br />Mrs. Negrelli, seconded by Mr. Prager, made a motion to approve the minutes of <br />the February 18 and March 5 Council meetings. <br />Ro11.Ca11: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Mption Carried <br />Minutes Approved <br />, . <br />The Mayor commented on the financial status of the Village by saying tax <br />valuation of property exceeds 21 million dollars and receipts from all sources <br />exceeds one half million dollars. ?ie then rPminded all Villagers that 1974 <br />license plates have to be on automobiles by April 15 and requested that <br />tPMayfield Village" be written in the appropriate place so we receive our portion <br />of monies from purchase of same. The Mayor statedthe C1erk-Treasurer of the <br />Mayfield City Schools has requested the County to increase certain valuation <br />of taxes on some parcels in the village. The Village would also receive a share <br />of the proposed increase tax valtzation as well as the School Board, Hearings <br />haee been set for Nlarch 28 and April 4 on the tax questions. „ <br />Patrolman David Liggett was then sworn in by Solicitor Byrnes , rising to a <br />full time status having completed his probationary period, <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />Bicycle Path: Mr. Prager read a reply received from the Ohio Department of <br />Transportation stating no federal.funds were available at this time. However <br />because communique was vague, it was decided to pursue further especially the <br />aspect of the proposed widening of S.O.M.. Mr. Honancsek to check the status of that. <br />subject. The Mayor added the Village's estimated cost for a bicycle path would be„,.?. <br />about $30,000 and without federaT funds the-project could not be done. - <br />Beech Hill Holding Tank: Mr. Hovancsek stating work on same was progressing <br />? rapidly but cautioned the workerr> may seek additional off-site parking. The <br />A4ayor adaised the County had approeed the Village's landscaping plans submitted <br />last fall and directed Chief Shortle towatch for any parking problem in that',aTea.
