<br />` >. <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE KEGULAR MEETING <br />V1llaCjP_ Of Mc-?yflE1d <br />April 15, 1974 <br />The Council of the Village of Mayfield met in regular session at <br />the Vil].age I-ia11 on Monday, april 15, 1974 at 8:08 p.m. Mayor Leerh <br />presided. <br />The Pledge of.Allegiance to the Flag was given. <br />Roll Call: Present: Mayor Leech, Messrs. Barclay, Bennett, <br />Bordonaro, Mrs. Negrelli, Messr_s. <br />Prager, and Schulte <br />Absent;/ ' None <br />1 ? <br />Also present were Messrs. Byrnes, Relic, Hovancsek, Amendola, ChiPf <br />Shortle, and Les Foltz. <br />The Iviayor opened the meeting by asking for comments fr_om the floor. <br />Jim Ndathers, Wilson Mills Road: He stated on April 4 his basement <br />along with several neighbors' were flooded with mud. He asked if it <br />was true the Village is eligible £or flood insurance to which he was <br />told yes. Mr. Mathers went on to say he felt the mud was ccxning from <br />Progressive and the Front Row Theater to which llr. Hovancsek assured <br />him it was not. Mr. Hovancsek explairied the Iayout of the sewer <br />system and catch -basins=. , maint-erianc.e ::::and cleaning :along <br />Wilson Mills was the responsibility of the County. The Mayor stated <br />Mr. Amendola had contacted the County prior tm the flood requesting <br />the catch basins be cleaned. He also added an additional storm <br />sewer could not be installed without assessments but we could make <br />sure the catch basins are cleaned. Mr. Amendola said, the County had <br />been out but encountered an equipment breakdown and as soon as it was <br />available, the Village has top priority to f inish the cleaning. Mr. <br />Mathers advised Mrs. Vitek's basement°had mud°`with an oil or gasoline <br />odor which he felt might have come from the Texaco station to which <br />Mr. Hovancsek said he would investigate. <br />j <br />Mrs. Vitek, Wilson Mills Road: She stated a minimal amount of water <br />had been in her basement th?,7?ee prior times but the last occasion <br />was the first time mud occu-rred with an oil base. <br />Councilman Prager injected for clarification the problem was with the <br />storm sewers and not sanitary sewers. <br />Mr. Mathers asked who to contact to pay for his losses and was <br />advised by the Mayor and Solicitor there was no legal recourse; how-.- <br />ever, Councilman Prager said the cost could be included i.n his tax <br />return.
