Sixty-Nine people were <br />present. The ladies were thanked for the cooking and for being the perfect host <br />by the Mayor. <br />Police Department - Chief Shortle. <br />There were fewer burglaries in March than the previous month. <br />Village Engineer - Mr. Hovancselc. <br />NIr. Comella, seconded by i~Ir. Davis, made a motion to give the Engineer permission <br />to check the sewers and paving of the IQeroni Subdivision No. One. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - P•lessrs. Comella, Fitz-Gerald, Bordonaro, Donaldson, Schmidt <br />and Davis. <br />Nays - None. Motion Carri_od. <br />iir. Hovancselc met with the school board. The board hopes to deemphasize the <br />entrance on 1Jilson Nlills and insist that the majority use the entrance on Lander <br />Road. It was hoped that the school would consider relocating their drive on <br />1Jilson Mills, across from Miner Road. T'ne school board will submit a copy of <br />the minutes for our file. <br />AIr. Comella discussed the possibility of a policeman being on duty at the high <br />school entrance during the morning hours. <br />Pir. Fitz-Gerald asked about the legality of passing an Ordinance before it is <br />written, and cited the incident in Pepper Pike. Mr. Edelman ,stated that this was <br />never done in Mayfield and that it was improper. <br />P1r. Platzner introduced his attorney, i~Ir. Alarshall, and Mr. Bowen, an arcizitect <br />and planner, who presented a plan for approximately 76 acres of land located east <br />of SOM Center P.oad, near the tidhitehaven Cemetery and the rietropolitan Parlc. Their <br />plan included the zoning of the land for commercial, garden-type apartments for <br />a total of 1200 units. It was emphasized that this was only a schematic drawing <br />and asked the Council for their consideration of rezoning this land to conform with <br />their plan. <br />Mr. Fitz-Gerald, seconded by I~r. Comella, moved that this plan be studied by the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - riessrs. Comella, Fitz-Gerald, Donaldson, Schmidt and Davis. <br />Nays - Mr. Bordonaro. <br />iKotion Carried. <br />Florian Rickey was concerned about the fact that he had not been informed of the <br />proposed relocating of the high school drive across from Miner Road. Mayor Busa <br />stated that the school board was not interested in such a relocation. <br />
