4. <br />Finance Committee - Mr. Davis <br />Mr. Davis reported that. the Finance Committee had met and approved the Vouchers. <br />Mr. Davis, seconded by Mr. Bordonaro , introduced Pay Ordinance No. 555-P• <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs. Comella, Fitz-Gerald, Bordonaro, Donaldson, Schmidt <br />and Davis. - <br />Nays - None <br />Motion Carried <br />Pay Ordinance Approved <br />The Safety and Service Committee had asked the Finance Committee to check and <br />see if funds were available for the purchasing of an additional Police Cruiser <br />this year, The Finance Committee reported that funds were available for the <br />purchase of a third car this year, but suggests that none be purchased next <br />year unless absolutely necessary. Police Chief Shortie feels that the purchase <br />of Police Cars is due to necessity and does not wish to be issued an ultimatum. <br />Tb,e Finance Committee also recommended that the Maroon Car be used by the Service <br />Department, if it i~ better than the one that they are presently using. After <br />discussion, Mr. D'Agostino decided to keep the car that he is driving, the <br />Maroon car will be used as a trade-in car. <br />Mr. Schmidt, seconded by Mr. Bordonaro, made a motion to advertise for bids <br />for ~. Police Car. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs. Comella, Fitz-Gerald, Bordonaro, Donaldson, Schmidt <br />and Davis. <br />Nays - None <br />Motion Carried <br />Mr. Davis explained that the Finance Committee prepares a budget at the <br />beginning of the year with appropriations for various funds. <br />Mr. Lockemer suggested that if the Safety and Service Committee did not like <br />the budget program, they could prepare the budget for the following year. The <br />Finance Committee works hard getting this budget together and it is seldom <br />used as a guide. <br />Mr. Schmidt said that he had served on the Finance Committee and had asked to <br />be taken off because of the conflict of interest on the Safety and Service <br />Committee. Mr. Schmidt does not feel that they-are stepping out of bounds <br />because they are only recommending to Finance Committee. <br />Mayor Busa responded that the Safety and Service Committee are not qualified <br />or authorized to perform this type of work: Mayor Busa asked the Finance <br />Committee if the budget could be adjusted for an increase in salaries for <br />the Village Employees for 'the coming year and requested a recommendation to <br />be presented to council for the December meetingo <br />Building and Service Department - Mr. D'Agostino <br />Reported that the Village had helped the County clean. the drain between <br />Mr. Briggs and Mr. Pavlinsky, winterized the equipment, put in drainage <br />
