<br />Boger, ScYi4nidt and Davis. NAYS: None. Mr. Boger, seconded by Mr. Davis, moved to

<br />Roads Committee: Mre Schmidt - Suggested the roads could be resurfaced rather than
<br />tarred and chipped, No further comment, Mr. Boger raised the question whether to
<br />take advice of the Streets and Roads Committee and the engineer. Mre Hovancsek
<br />pointed out the only way to go with a $5,000.00 budget. Mr. Fitz-Gerald feels we
<br />have overlapping committees. Mr. Hovancsek noted that the majority of the people
<br />have concrete roads and that they would not like to pay for Councilmanic Bondsa
<br />Mr. Schmidt will leave this in the realm of the streets and roads committee.
<br />Finance: Mr. Davis - Mr. Davis, seconded by Mr. Boger, introducted "Pay Ordinance
<br />#561-P. Roll Call. AYES: Messrs. Leech, Fitz-Gerald, Bordonaro, Boger, Schmidt
<br />and Davis. NAYS: None. The State Examiner said we shall .have to make changes.
<br />Any purchase over $5.00 will require a purchase order. Petty cash must be kept by
<br />one person to comply with state code. State recommends that we do this. Mr. Edel~
<br />man will prepare an ordinance to be presented at next council meeting. Finance
<br />Committee is willing to meet two or three times a month to comply, Mre Edelman
<br />states that the 2.7 mill operating levy is expiring this year and the Budget Como
<br />mitt,, must get the budget in to the county auditor before July 20e Budget will
<br />be adopted at June Meeting.
<br />Police Department: Chief Shortie - Gave his monthly report and reported we had
<br />121 traffic citations, 5 property damage accidents, 16 mutual aids, 21 aids to
<br />motorists, etc.
<br />Mr. Hovancsek had answered several service drainage complaints, Mre Schmidt, second-
<br />ed by Mr. Boger, made a motion to levy the.$32e00 street lighting assessment on the
<br />frontage on SOM Center Road instead of parcels on Beta Drive, Roll Calle AYES:

<br />Mr. Hovancsek reported that work is progressing on Hickory Hill Drive,
<br />Village Solicitor: Mre Edelman - Reported that after May 31, 1970 there is no gar
<br />bage~~contract as it is expiring on that date, He suggests we advertise for bids,
<br />Motion made by Mr. Bordonaro, seconded by Mre Davis, to advertise for bids for
<br />garbage collection. Roll Call. AYES: Messrs. Leech, Fitz-Gerald, Bordonaro, Boger,

<br />~ Mr. Boger The skating pond on SOM Center Road is an eyesore, Mre Bordonaro
<br />wanted to know what can be done about, it. Mre Schmidt explained that the plans
<br />for the pond call for regrading and planting of shrubbery.
<br />Mr. Sohmidt made mention that two old houses on SOM Center Road near Fisher°s
<br />Tavern should .be torn down. Mre Boger asked about razing of the house on the Post
