3. Buildin Committee: Mr. Boger and Mr. $ordonaro reported they met on May 17, 1970 at : 5 P.M. Committee has not taken a stand heretofore. The facts are in and it is recommended that town hall be repaired and remodeled. Recommended the "For Sale11 . sign be removed from in front of the building. Motion made by Mr. Boger, seconded by Mr. Leech, to remove sign. Roll Call. AYES: Messrs. Leech, Fitz-Gerald, Bordon® aro, Boger, Schmidt and Davis. NAYS: None. Recreation: Report by Mr. Schmidt. April 16, 1970 the Recreation Department met at Mayfield Center School and a soft ball team practiced. Union Cemetery Committee: Mr. Leech - Having trouble with the lawnmower and may have to purchase a new one. Streets and Roads Committee: Mr. Fitz-Gerald - Bids for tarring and chipping streets are out now and.will be in by next council meeting. Civil Defense Committee: Mr. Boger - Met May 7, 1970 ~t 8:00 P.M. with the director, Mr. Tobbeb A new member has been added; Mr. Jack Gibb, as our publicity man. Chief Shortie and Mr. Boger met with Al Mifflin of County Civil Defense and were the re-~ cipients of a van for mobile radio equipment and are now seeking additional storage area. Meeting this week with Mr. Ed Riley, Deputy Director for Committee of Civil Defense. The group will decide on a new name. Mr. Fitz-Gerald read the minutes of the meeting. Mr. Schanfarber would like to know what can be done about the chuck holes on Butternut, Walnut and Sandalwood Drives in the concrete streets. Mr. Hovancsek reported that these would have to be taken Dare of by General Maintenance and scheduled by them. Mr. Boger asked how long can you hold bolds? Mr. Edelman feels streets should be accepted in a couple of years. Village Records Committee: Mr. Leech - Nothing new. Planning and Zoning Committee: Mr. FS.tz-Gerald - Met on May 11, 1970 at 8:00 P.M. Mr. Nick Russo through his attorney described the proposed Mayfield Senior Citizens Building Complex for SOM Center Road. The variance question needs resolving for the Maintree Realty Company°s property. Judge Alvin Krenzler would like to sell 40 acres owned by him at Interstate 271 and Wilson Mills. Zoning Commission indicm ated it would meet with residents of Worton Park to discuss the abutting 40 acress Safety and Service Committee: Mr. Schmidt - Met on Monday, May 4, 1970 and recom- mended to the F`i.nance Committee purchase of the following itemsq a sign®maker costm ing X1600.00, an adding machine costing $75 and a dual®battery system for the police ambulance costing $125. The Finance Committee recommends tabling purchase of the sign maker due to lack of fundso Mr. Schmidt, seconded by Mr. Bordonaro, made a motion to purchase adding machine for X75.00 anal a dual-battery system for the police ambulance for $125.00.
