3. <br /> Buildin Committee: Mr. Boger and Mr. $ordonaro reported they met on May 17, 1970 <br /> at : 5 P.M. Committee has not taken a stand heretofore. The facts are in and it <br /> is recommended that town hall be repaired and remodeled. Recommended the "For Sale11 <br />. sign be removed from in front of the building. Motion made by Mr. Boger, seconded <br /> by Mr. Leech, to remove sign. Roll Call. AYES: Messrs. Leech, Fitz-Gerald, Bordon® <br /> aro, Boger, Schmidt and Davis. NAYS: None. <br />Recreation: Report by Mr. Schmidt. April 16, 1970 the Recreation Department met at <br />Mayfield Center School and a soft ball team practiced. <br />Union Cemetery Committee: Mr. Leech - Having trouble with the lawnmower and may <br />have to purchase a new one. <br />Streets and Roads Committee: Mr. Fitz-Gerald - Bids for tarring and chipping streets <br />are out now and.will be in by next council meeting. <br />Civil Defense Committee: Mr. Boger - Met May 7, 1970 ~t 8:00 P.M. with the director, <br />Mr. Tobbeb A new member has been added; Mr. Jack Gibb, as our publicity man. Chief <br />Shortie and Mr. Boger met with Al Mifflin of County Civil Defense and were the re-~ <br />cipients of a van for mobile radio equipment and are now seeking additional storage <br />area. Meeting this week with Mr. Ed Riley, Deputy Director for Committee of Civil <br />Defense. The group will decide on a new name. Mr. Fitz-Gerald read the minutes of <br />the meeting. Mr. Schanfarber would like to know what can be done about the chuck <br />holes on Butternut, Walnut and Sandalwood Drives in the concrete streets. Mr. <br />Hovancsek reported that these would have to be taken Dare of by General Maintenance <br />and scheduled by them. Mr. Boger asked how long can you hold bolds? Mr. Edelman <br />feels streets should be accepted in a couple of years. <br />Village Records Committee: Mr. Leech - Nothing new. <br />Planning and Zoning Committee: Mr. FS.tz-Gerald - Met on May 11, 1970 at 8:00 P.M. <br />Mr. Nick Russo through his attorney described the proposed Mayfield Senior Citizens <br />Building Complex for SOM Center Road. The variance question needs resolving for <br />the Maintree Realty Company°s property. Judge Alvin Krenzler would like to sell <br />40 acres owned by him at Interstate 271 and Wilson Mills. Zoning Commission indicm <br />ated it would meet with residents of Worton Park to discuss the abutting 40 acress <br />Safety and Service Committee: Mr. Schmidt - Met on Monday, May 4, 1970 and recom- <br />mended to the F`i.nance Committee purchase of the following itemsq a sign®maker costm <br />ing X1600.00, an adding machine costing $75 and a dual®battery system for the police <br />ambulance costing $125. The Finance Committee recommends tabling purchase of the <br />sign maker due to lack of fundso Mr. Schmidt, seconded by Mr. Bordonaro, made a <br />motion to purchase adding machine for X75.00 anal a dual-battery system for the police <br />ambulance for $125.00. Roll Call. AYES: Messrs. Leech, F~.tz-Gerald, Bordonaro, <br />Boger, Schmidt and Davis. NAYS: None. <br />
