NAYS: Noneo Motion Carried Ordinance'Passed Mayor Busa reported on the situation as it now exists in our village in regard to needed police protection for~our people and property and asked council to find a way to hire more policement in our towno The mayor asked council to take. note of the increasing crime rate in our villageo He stressed the point that it is .our goal to cover the town 24 hours a day J; with 2 cars and 2 patrolmen. At present only one 8-hour shift is covered with 2 patrolmen and as a result, the town is insecureo He referred to the police record of over 100 home burlaries, 2 recent rape incidences, over 30 auto thefts, 15 narcotic cases and 70 larceny caseso All in less than 2
