3. <br />Mr. Boger, seconded by Mr. Davis, moved that Ordinance #71-3 be <br />approved and passed as read. Roll Call:AYES: Messrs. Fitz-Gerald, <br />Bordonaro, Boger, Schmidt and Davis. NAYS:. None. <br />Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Passed <br />ORDINANCE 71-4: Mr._Boger, seconded by Mr. Davis, introduced <br />Ordinance 71-4, Entitled: "AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING SALARIES, <br />RATES OF COMPENSATION AND VACATIONS OF CERTAIN EMPLOYEES OF THE <br />VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD, BEGINNING AS OF JANUARY 1, 1971. Mr. <br />Boger, seconded by Mr. Fitz-Gerald, made a motion to suspend the <br />rules of law requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate <br />occasions. Roll Call: AYES: Mes.s'rs. Fitz-Gerald, Bordonaro, <br />Boger, Schmidt and Davis, NAYS: None. <br />Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mr. Boger, seconded by Mr. Fitz-Gerald, moved that Ordinance #71-4 <br />be approved and passed as read. Roll Call: AYES: Messrs. Fitz- <br />Gerald, Bordonaro, Boger, Schmidt and Davis. NAYS: Npne,o <br />Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Passed <br />Mayor Busa complimented Chief Shortie on his efforts of procur- <br />ing for our village a jail cell costing $100.00 from Shaker <br />Heights Police Dept. A saving of approximately $8,000.00 is <br />acknowledged. <br />New Business• <br />Real Estate Property Tax Assessment: Discussion followed on the <br />recent increases granted by the Ohio State Supreme Court's ruling <br />relative~to (unfair) apportionment. <br />School Board Bond Issue: Mayor Busa will attend the school board <br />meeting January 19, 1971 and bring back information for February <br />meeting. He stated that the school board was "brave" in submitting <br />a bond issue of-this size and at this time. <br />Aintree Park Taxes: Discussion on apportionment. Mr. Caplan has <br />requested another reduction in valuation. <br />Uncapped Gas ti~dell: Mayor Busa reports this dangerous condition <br />on the 25' front strip of land on SOM Center Road. Chief Hejcl <br />will obtain the name of the owner and investigate along with the <br />state. Mayor Busa expressed his desire to have this gas well <br />capped if found necessary. <br /> Snow Removal: A proposal was received from J. Murphy to clear <br /> sidewalks of snow to both schools, V~`ilson Mill s Road and SOM <br /> Center Rd. Mr. Schmidt was assigned to check into it and report <br /> at the February Safety and Service Meeting. <br /> Councilman Leech arrived at 9:45 P.M. <br /> Mr. Schanfarber discussed the safety factor of 40 school children <br /> crossing SOM Center Rd. from their school bus each day. <br />
