6.
Police Dept: Sgt. Litman: Read his monthly report.
VillageiLngineer: Mr. Hovancsek: Stated that he had sub-
mitted a large amount of information regarding flood insur-
ance for residents to purchase on their own at a lesser cost
because it is backed by the federal governiuent r~,tl~er ths.n
private insurance funds; made several off-street ps.rking
suggestions which he presented to the mayor; met with Gould
officials; and studied drive location with Highland Heights.
Further, regional planning Commission's point merited further
consideration relative to the entrance from Wilson 1'~iills Rd.
to the high school. It is being revised and submitted to the
board of education.
Communication:
~ov~rr~or ;Gill:i~sn:answered a personally signed letter to
Mayor t3usa relative to his October 21, 1971 letter request-
ing the governor's interest in our problem of the proposed
enlargement of the Beech Hill Pumping Station. I~tayor Busa
feels that this is T~Iayfield Height's problem and not ours and
wishes to have it built where it belongs in back of the Jiay-
field middle School.
Village Solicitor: i~Ir. Edelman: Clothing additional.
Clerk-treasurer: rlr. xelic: Expressed his thanks to i~~le:ssrs.
Boger and Davis for their help on the Finance Committee.
Council President Leech: questioned C~ir. Relic about the
transfer of the funds from ~Jorton Park development fund to
the general fund and was informed it is the "bond retire-
rnent fund" and is set forth as the practice in Ohio Statutes.
Comments from the floor:
l~2rs. Ruth Gillis: "The tree ordinance is really a 'baby,'
as the school board was guilty of the sane offense a month
ago. (Mayor Busa stated that Messrs. D'i~gostino and I-iov-
anesek will check it out and mail a copy of the ordinance to
them.) She also suggested when developers come into our
village to give them a copy of this ordinance. (TUTayor
Busa stated that this is a point well taken.) Further,
she referred to the 14th lmendment of the U. S. Constitution,
spelled it out and reflected upon her previous and future
references to it. Also, she would like this body to
familiarise itself with the Fifth Amendment because in time
she'll make reference to it.
There being no further business, Mr. Fitz-Gerald, seconded
by i'~'lr. Davis, made a motion to adjourn.
