52 <br />Mayor Carmen said he would like Council to confirm his appointments of Gus <br />Amendola as Building Commissioner/Service Director, and Lester Foltz as <br />Assistant Service Director. <br />Mr. Basile, seconded by Mr. Flynn, made a motion to confirm the Mayor's <br />appointment of Gus Amendola as Building Commissioner/Service Director. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Mr. Flynn, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to confirm the.Mayor's <br />appointment of Lester Foltz as Assistant Service Director. <br />Ro11 Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Mayor Carmen said after Les's retirement, that there will be only one <br />candidat.e eligible to take the test for that position. He feels that they <br />will wait until the other two candidates are eligible, then give the test. <br />Mayor Carmen said that some unanticipated expenses have come up regarding <br />the bike path. The Ohio Department of Transportation has requested the <br />payment of $11,000 by April 2nd. Mayor Carmen said that we are receiving <br />funding for this project from the Federal Government and NOACA. He said <br />that he has written a letter to the Metroparks requesting that they pay <br />for one-th.ird of this cost. Since time is of the essence, he asked that <br />Council consider the adoption of this legislation this evening. <br />Resolution No. 87-23, entitled; "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND <br />PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE DIRECTOR OF <br />TRANSPORTATION FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A BIKE PATH AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY._" Introduced by Mayor Fred N..Carmen and Council as a Who1e. <br />Mr. Etzler, seconded_by Mr. Flynn, made a motion to suspend the rules of. <br />Council requiring a resolution to be read on three separate occasions. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Mr. Basile, seconded by Mr. Flynn, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 87-23. <br />Motion Carried <br />Appointment Confirmed <br />Motion Carried <br />Appointment Confirmed <br />Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br /> <br /> <br />Ro11 Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Resolution Adopted <br />
