69 MINUTES Or THE REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL Mayfield Village . May 18, 1987 Th.e Council of Mayfield Village.met in Regular Session on Monday, May 18, 1987, at 8:30 p.m...in the.Council Chambers at the Village Hall. Council President, Santo Basile presided. Roll Call: Present: Mr. Basile, Mr. Etzler, Mr. Flynn, Mr. Goley, and Mr. Petschauer. Absent : None Also Present Were . Mayor Carmen, Mr. Amendola, Mr. Feneli, Mr. Hovancsek, Mr. Patrick, Acting Chief Mohr, and Miss Heath. The Pledge of A1legiance to the Flag was given. OPEN PORTION Debbie Maggard; Jefferson Park Properties - said she was present to request, approval for a new leasing sign. THey are now leasing the building themselves and would like to change the lettering on the.sign. Council President Basile asked Acring Chief Mohr the status of tZze fire safety of buildings one and twa; if they adhere to code. Acting Chief Mohr said.buildings one and two are now iri compliance, and three and four were never a problem. Discussion was held: Mr..Amendola clarified the change Ms._Maggard was requesting did not require a variance. It is only a change in the lettering on the sign. Ms. Maggard said .they are also requesting a variance,for another sign.: She explained the hard5hip they have because the Mr. Steak sign wi11 block their sign if it is set at the required set back distance. Their sign would not be visible from the street for people traveling east. They are therefore, requesting a ten-foot variance. Mr. Goley said he would have no.objection to the Jefferson Park sign being placed at the same set back as the Mr. Steak sign. After further discussion, Mr. Amendola suggested he could present Council with pictures of the signs at the next Caucus. Mr. Etzler_said he would like to see this item discussed at the next Caucus. Council agreed to put this item on their Caucus agenda for June. Mr. Amendola will take pictures of the signs so they can better visualize the request.
