Basile.said Council received a couple of resolutions adopted by Highland <br />Heights and.asked Mr. Feneli to look at them to determine if we should adopt <br />similar legislation. <br />Mr. Basile said a letter was received from O.D.O.T. stating that the Wilson <br />Mills Road project will not be bid until October this year. 'I'he project will <br />not be started this year. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said he was at a meeting in April where.he learned that. this <br />project would be delayed due to funding. The tracings are in Columbus. The <br />funds will not be available until the next Federal fiscal year which is Oct. <br />1987.. This job is scheduled to be one of the first jobs bid in that very <br />first bid letting in that fiscal year. He said they haye agreed to gi've an <br />early completion date for this portion of the project. That wi11 be a <br />definite aid`to both communities and will help with tr.aff ic problems. <br />Mr. Basile said he has been.attending the Wilson Mills Coalition group <br />meetings. They feel that we must install a light at Beta and S.O.M: during <br />the contruction. <br />Mr. Basile reported that bids were opened on Friday; 14 streets will be <br />repaved and the Horvitz Company was the low bidder. <br />Mr. Petschauer said he was concerned with the quality of the work that <br />company did last.year. Mr. Hovancsek said the specs.made this year are more rigid and there?should <br />not be problems. <br />Mr..Hovancsek said of the bidders who bid this project, he feels that the <br />Horvitz Company is in the top two. He will be glad to talk to them about <br />whatever problems Mr. Petschauer is referring to. <br />Mr. Etzler said he thinks the problems Mr. Petschauer is referring to are. <br />technical. When brought to their attention, they responded right'awaq and <br />the..streets they repaired, although just one year ago, are holding up we11. <br />Mr. Petschauer said he could see in certain areas where high berms were <br />beginning to crumble. <br />Mayor Carmen said a decision would not be made regarding the award of the <br />bid right away; discussion can be held at the next Council Caucus. <br />There being no further business, Council.went into Executive Session at <br />this time (9:22 p.m.) <br />Council reconvened at 9:50 p.m. and adjourned. <br />
