<br />7/20/8.7 <br />Regular.Council Meeting 107 <br />Page .Five Jefferson Building Signs - Mr. Amendola explained their request is to move <br />the sign teri feet further.forward than the present Village code requires. <br />They would like a better view of the sign since the Mr. Steak sign projects <br />forward. The location of their sign would not be as far forward as the Mr. <br />Steak sign is now. <br />Discussion was helde <br />Mayor Carme,n suggested this item be discussed at the next Caucus since Mr. <br />Fen,eli would be present to answer any legal questions. <br />Street Paving'- Mr. Basile asked when the paving is scheduled to begin. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said the con.tractor would like to begin as soon as possible. <br />They have not been able to begin work due to the inclement weather and the <br />streets have not yet been sealed due to the Service Department's heavy <br />schedule. He said that the contractor contacted him last week and asked if <br />the Village would be interested in having them do the sealing work. If the <br />Village wa5 interested, they would submit a quote. <br />_ Mayor Carmen will_discuss this i:tem with Mr. Amendola on Wednesday morning <br />and advise Mr. Hovancsek. <br />Third Reading of Ordinance No. 87-4, entitled; "AN ORDINANC,E AMENDING SECTION <br />1(A) (2) OF ORDINANCE N0. 85-17 PERTAINING TO WAGES, BENEFITS AND OTHER TERMS <br />AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT FOR EMPLOXEES'OF MAYFIET,D VILL4IGE,'OHIO, SO AS TO <br />PROVIDE ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION FOR FULL-TIME POLICE OFFICERS WHO HAVE EMT OR <br />EMT-P CERTIFICATIONS, REPEALING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by Mayor Carmen and Council as a <br />Whole. (First Reading 5/18/8.7, Second Reading 6/51/8.7.) <br />Mr. Goley, seconded by Mr. Petschauer, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. <br />87-4. <br />Mr. Goley said he feels this ordinance has merit and asked that Council consider <br />passing it. <br />Roll CaZl: AYES: Mr. Basile, Mr. Flynn, Mr. Go1ey, and Mr. Petschauer <br />NAYS: Mr. Etzler Motion Carried <br />Ordinance.Enacted <br />Second Reading of Resolution No. 87-42, entitled;_"A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING <br />THE iMAYOR AND PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL TO ENTER INTO A CflNTRACT WITH THE WALTER <br />H. DRANE COMPANY, FOR THE ANNUAL UPDATING OF THE C071FIED ORDINANCES OF <br />MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO." Introduced by Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole. <br />(First Reading 6/15/87.) <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> Historical So.ciety - Boundaries and Land Lease - Mayor Carmen explained that <br /> Mr. Feneli is preparing a legal document pertaining to this. A question has <br /> arisen as to whether we should give them a small area or the entire area <br /> around-the house and give the Village an easement for that area. The Historical. <br /> Society-would prefer to have the entire land and allow the Village to have an <br /> easement on it.
