180 <br />11/25/87 <br />Council Minutes <br />Page Two <br />Mre Hovancsek said the total balance left to be paid by the Village for the <br />water work is 367,000, <br />Mrs Hovancsek made copies of the letters f or Council. <br />Discussion was heldv <br />Mr. Hovancsek explained why the amount of the estimate was increased. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said that the Cleveland Trinidad Paving Company will be doing <br />the water work for the Agresta Company. <br />Mr. Rinker asked that Mr. Hovancsek submit in writing an explanation regarding <br />how the work is pieced out. <br />Mr. Flynn said we should know all of this. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said that a pre-construction conference will be held. He ex- <br />plained who would be attending the meeting and what would be done. <br />Discussion was heldv ' <br />Mr. Hovancsek said that there is a completion date set for the portion from <br />Lander Road to SOM Center Road of September 30, 1988 (he thinks.) He said <br />there is a severe penalty for every day that it goes over. He said the <br />completion date set for the portion to Richmond Road is August, 1989. He said <br />that the contract states that all four lanes must be open during the winter. <br />Mrs. Mills asked what Council action must be taken this evening. <br />Mre Hovancsek said we need a motion to authorize the Mayor to send a letter <br />to the County. He said that we already have an resolution where we said we <br />would do the work but there are no dollar amounts listed on it. Since there <br />was a significant increase the County feels they should come back to the <br />municipalities who are paying the bill to make sure they are aware and in <br />agreement to the amount. <br />Mr. Patrick said there is insufficient funds in the Village treasury f or it <br />now, but it could be borrowed. He said he would recommend that we go notes in <br />anticipation of going to bonds, and then get into a schedule pay-off. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said that the County will be invoicing the municipalities for <br />this work. They will not be paying for this work all at once. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said that a motion is needed from Council to authorize Mayor <br />Carmen to send the letter to have the State award the contract. - <br />Mr. Rinker, seconded by Mre Basile, made a motion to authorize Mayor Carmen to <br />send the letter to have the State award the contract. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Authorization Given <br /> <br />2
