192 <br />Regular Council Meeting <br />12/21/87 <br />Page 8 <br />Mayor Carmen said that Mr. Amendola could advise the property owners that we <br />do not intend to enforce the construction completion date according to the or- <br />dinance, that we would use May 16, 1988, as the date when construction must be <br />completed. <br />Mre Amendola said that he received a variance request for the signs at Village <br />Plaza. They requested a 9" height variance for the sign to be placed in the <br />planting area. <br />Mayor Carmen explained that Council does not normally grant variances, that <br />our code should be adhered to regarding the size of the sign. <br />Mayor Carmen asked Mr. Amendola to show him a copy of the drawings. He said <br />that he would make copies of the drawings for Council. <br />Mr. Petschauer said that the tree on the corner looks greata <br />Mr. Feneli said that it has been a pleasure working with Mayor Carmen and <br />Council. <br />Mayor Carmen said that he thinks Council will want to talk to Mr. Feneli <br />before the end of the year--or just after, in terms of legal matters. Mayor <br />Carmen said that he will be interviewing law director candidateso Mayor Car- <br />men said that Mr. Feneli has done a great job during the last ten years as Law <br />Director. He asked that a Resolution of Appreciation be prepared for him. <br />Mr. Flynn asked if the concern regarding the eastbound traffic at Village <br />Plaza had been taken care of. <br />Mayor Carmen said that we made.the request, however, this was not a part of <br />the final site plan we approved. <br />Mr. Petschauer requested that legislation be prepared regarding vicious dogs. <br />Mayor Carmen said that the Christmas Party sponsored by the Recreation Com- <br />mittee was a great success. He said that the Recreation Committee did a great <br />job, and extended his thanks to the committee members. <br />Mayor Carmen said that we are collecting mittens for the Coats for Kids <br />project again this year. He said the mittens that are donated are being hung <br />on the mitten tree. <br />Mayor Carmen said that the Over 55 Snow Removal Program is a tremendous <br />successe <br />Mayor Carmen expressed special thanks to this Council and the past members who <br />worked hard during 1987. He said that he reviewed the legislation passed <br />during the last year and that so much was done.
