1_ 2 <br />Regular Council Meering <br />1/21/91 <br />Page 6 <br />Mr. Ramos said he met with the attorney for the Kneier litigation and will discuss the matter in <br />Executive Session. <br />First Reading of Ordinance No. 91-01, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION <br />521.12 OF TBE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, PERTAINING <br />TO COLLECTION AND TRANSPORTATION OF SOLID WASTE, REPEALING ALL <br />ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." <br />Introduced by Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole. <br />Mr. Ramos said this legislation was prepared as a result of a letter sent from Clean Land to the <br />Mayor's Office regarding the illegal dumping. The letter states that most illegal durnping is done <br />after hours and asked that we outlaw after-hour dumping. He suggests this ordinance be placed on <br />first reading and discussed at the Ordinance Review Committee. <br />First Reading of Ordinance No. 91-02, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION <br />739.06(b) OF TBE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, <br />PERTAINING TO THE PERMITTED HOURS OF SOLICITATION AT PRIVATE <br />RESIDENCES WITHIN THE MUNICIPALITY AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." <br />Introduced by Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole. <br />Mr. Ramos said that Village ordinance allows solicitation at private residences until9 p.m.; this <br />legislation prescribes earlier hours. He said that Mr. Patrick might have some input regarding fees. <br />Mr. Patrick said the reason for the filing fee is because some people submit applications requesting <br />solicitarion permits but never come back in to pick up the applications. He suggests if a filing fee <br />is insrituted, that it be paid before the application is processed. <br />Mr. Flynn suggested this ordinance be discussed at the Ordinance Review Committee meeting. <br />Mr. Rinker said we will leave Ordinance No. 91-02 on first reading and it will go to Ordinance <br />Review. <br />Resolution No. 91-01, entitled; "A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE PRESIDENT OF TBE <br />UNITED STATES AND THE ARMED FORCES COALITION IN TIiE WAR AGAINST <br />IRAQ." Introduced by Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole. <br />Mr. Rinker explained that this legislation was drafted in an effort to try to express some recognirion <br />and support to the President of the United States and the armed forces coalition in the war against <br />Iraq. <br />Mr. Basile, seconded by Mr. Pietrafese, made a morion to adopt Resolution 91-01. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Resolution Adopted <br />Resolurion No. 91-02, entitled; "A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION TO LII.LIAN M. <br />MII.LS."
