19 <br />NIINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL <br />Mayfield Village <br />February 4, 1991 <br />The Council of Mayfield Village met in Special Session on Monday, February 4, 1991, at eight <br />o'clock p.m. (8 p.m.) in the Council Chambers at the Village Hall. Council President Bruce <br />Rinker presided. <br />ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Basile, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Flynn, Mrs. Mills, Mr. Pietrafese, and <br />Mr. Rinker <br />Absent: Mr. Ferrante <br />Also Present Were: Mayor Carmen, Mr. Amendola, Mr. Hovancsek, Mr. Patrick, <br />Mr. Ramos, Chief Mohr, Chief Stevens, and Miss Heath. <br />Mr. Rinker said the Special Council Meeting was called to consider Resolurion No. 91-13 <br />pertaining to, the use of the Beachwood firing range, and any other matter that may come before <br />Council. He asked Council to confirm the Mayor's appointments of Richard Todd Ashton as a <br />full-time patrolman, and George Ballash as a full-time Service Department employee. <br />Confumarion of Appointments <br />Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to confirm the above-mentioned <br />appointments. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Appointments Confirmed <br />Mayor Carmen said that the Civil Service Commission recendy concluded tesring procedures for <br />police candidates. He said that Todd did well on the testing and explained that candidates must go <br />through a series of interviews and background checks before any appointments are made. Mayor <br />Carmen said he received glowing reports about Todd and it is his pleasure to make the appointment <br />and welcome him aboard. <br />Mayor Carmen administered the oath of office to Richard Todd Ashton as a full-time patrolman of <br />the Mayfield Village Police Department. <br />Mayor Carmen said that George Ballash did well on the testing also. He is recently out of the <br />military and received fabulous references from the military. <br />Mayor Carmen administered the oath of office to George Ballash a full-time employee of the <br />Building and Service Department. <br />Mr. Rinker said the next order of business is to consider Resolurion 91-13. <br />First Reading of Resolution No. 91-13, enrided; "A resolution amending Section One (1) of <br />Resolution No. 91-03 pertaining to the contract with the City of Beachwood, Ohio, for the use of <br />the firing range by police personnel , and declaring an emergency. Introduced by Mayor Carmen <br />and Council as a Whole.
