88 <br />Regular Council Meering <br />5/20/91 <br />Page Eight <br />Mr. Amendola stated that Home Federal has no place else to put their sign. To conform, it would <br />have to be in the middle of the pazking lot. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None 1Vlorion Carried <br />Ordinance Enacted <br />First Reading of Ordinance No. 91-18, enritled; "An ordinance granting a variance to Heinen's, <br />Inc. for the purpose of maintaining the signs on certain property located at 860 S.O.M. Center <br />ltoad and declaring an emergency." Introduced by Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole. <br />Mr. Basile, seconded by Mr. Pietrafese, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council requiring <br />an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions. <br />ROLL CALI,: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to enact Ordinance 91-18. <br />Mrs. Mills said that Lt. Jay had sent a letter regarding the plantings around Heinen's sign. Mr. <br />Amendola explained that the greenery has grown up and is blocking the vision. They are <br />requesting that lower growth material be used so that the vision be corrected. <br />Mr. Amendola explained that he talked about this matter to their architect and is sure they will be <br />making the corrections. <br />Mrs. Mills said she thinks that Council should make the ordinance contingent upon their correcting <br />that planting. She said the Planning and Zoning Commission was in favor of approving the <br />variance if they took Lt. Jay's recommendation. <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Basile, made a morion to amend the ordinance to include the <br />following contingency: the variance will be granted conringent upon their following the <br />recommendation as stated in Lt. 7ay's letter dated 1VIay 5, 1991, regarding the replacement of <br />existing shrubbery to maintain a certain visibility. <br />1ZOLL CALL: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Amended <br />Mr. Pietrafese, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a morion to pass Ordinance 91-18 as amended. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Enacted (as amended) <br /> <br /> <br />
