134 <br />Special Council Meeting <br />7/29/91 <br />Page Two <br />1VIr. Basile said that many people in his azea have commented that they do not want a blue bag; they <br />like having a container. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said that after reviewing the bids, in his judgment the lowest and best bid received <br />was from B.F.I. and he made that recommendation to Council. <br />M[r. Basile asked how the new recycling bins would be delivered to residents. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said that per the bid specifications, the waste hauler will provide the bins. <br />Mr. Doug Vossler, a representarive from B.F.I. in the audience, said they would deliver the bins. <br />Mr. Rinker asked for a straw vote as to the name of the company Council wished the contract <br />awarded to. <br />Mr. Basile B.F.I. <br />Mrs. Cinco B.F.I. <br />Mr. Ferrante B.F.I. <br />Mr. Flynn B.F.I. <br />Mrs. Mills B.F.I. <br />Mr. Pietrafese B.F.I. <br />Mr. Rinker B. F. I. <br />Mr. Rinker said with this understanding, he would like Mr. Ramos to read Resolution No. 91-69. <br />First Iteading of Resolution No. 91-69, entitled; "A resolution awarding a contract to B.F.I. Inc. <br />as lowest and best bidder for solid waste removal and recycling in Mayfield Village, Ohio, <br />rejecting all other bids and declaring an emergency." Introduced by Mayor Carmen and Council as <br />a Whole. <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council requiring a <br />resolution to be read on three separate occasions. . <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Ferrante, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 91-69. <br />Mrs. Mills asked if the contract will start immediately. <br />Mr. Ramos said the contract ternunates the first of August. <br />The representative from B.F.I. in the audience said they might ask Council to extend the contract a <br />week so they can get the bins delivered, etc. <br />Mr. Skidmore of Waste Management said they would be happy to serve the Village with recycling <br />and solid waste next week. He said he will be glad to work with the Village and B.F.I. to make <br />this a smooth transition. <br /> <br /> <br />
