1 °I l4
Regular Council Meeting
11/18/91
Page Four
Chief Mohr said he believes a problem exists between the vendor and Associated Estates and that
an engineering study needs to be provided. Associated Estates wants to be sure the weight of the
tower will be properly held by the building.
Water District Committee - Mrs. Mills said there was no meeting.
OLD BUSINES
Prouessive Expansion Request
Jim Heller. partner with Kext Architects, said the only new topic is the modification of the
proposal relating to the Mayfield Heights boundary on the south side. Mr. Heller Said the initial
berm proposal was for a berm that would go up about 71/2' on the residential sideo He said they
want us to move that berm 20' into the property leaving 20' of space. Mr. Heller explained their
compromise plan. He said what is being suggested at the 40' point (right alongside the parking) is
that they construct a 20-23' high wall, which would be a sound wall, around the 900' border. He
said the last item requested for them to consider was to come off the property line and construct a
mound maintaining a 40' diameter; placing evergreens and deciduous trees across the top. They
like the last plan suggested with modifications. They are willing to provide a berm that might be
8-10' in height with 8' evergreens on top (which would give 18' of dense cover); they would place
deciduous trees on top of the mound--all within the 40' buffer. Mr. Heller said thEre was no other
new information since the meeting Wednesday night He said they are here to request approval on
this plan.
,
Mr. Rinker apologized for the lack of specificity on the agenda; one item is to approve a conce -
plan. He asked how this should be done. ?
Mr. Ramos said by motion. He said the Planning and Zoning Commission gave preliminary
approval. Council should make a motion to grant preliminary approval of the conceptual plans and
have the Clerk of Council sign the preliminary plans. He explained there is a punch list that needs
to be taken care of before Planning and Zoning gives final approval. In 45 days Planning and
Zoning will give approval after the punch list is taken care of. After Planning and Zoning approves
it, it comes back to Council for final approval.
Mr. Ramos cited the items enumerated by Mr. Hovancsek on the "punch list."
Mr. Rinker said they had discussed a second garage structure and about some type of cost-sharing
arrangement for that structure. They were advised it would take at least a month to obtain the cost
information about this structure. Mr. Rinker asked if Council would like to pursue this further as
to what the cost would be; were there any members opposed.
There were no comments.
Mr. Chokel questioned if they are tallcing exclusively about 60 parking spaces because if they
would put on an extra deck somewhere, there would be more than 60 spaces.
Discussion was held.
