35
MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL
Mayfield Village
February 21,1994
The Council of Mayfield Village met in regular session on Monday, February 21,1994,
at eight o'clock p.m. (8 p.m.) in the Council Chambers at the Village Hall. Council
President Joanne Cinco presided.
? ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Basile, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Fixler, Mr. Flynn, and
? Mr. Stephens
? Absent: Mr. Ferrante
?
? Also Present Were: Mayor Rinker, Mr. Amendola, Mr. Brett, Mr. Cappello,
Mr. Diemert, Mr. Hovancsek, Chief Mohr, Mr. Samac,
Chief Stevens, and Miss Heath.
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.
OPEN PORTION
Mrs. Cinco said Laura Lynch had asked to speak at this time concerning Beech Hill.
Mrs. Cinco said she thought possibly she could wait until Council has that in their
discussion, and it would be a little bit more organized effort at that time. She asked if
anyone else wished to speak.
Bob LaRiche, 6506 Wilson Mills Road - said he has been trying for about a year to solve
a water problem in his yard. He is getting drainage from the house behind him on
Derby (that is probably a minimum of 10' higher elevation than his yard.) At one time
there was some type of a swale between these houses. He has tried to get Steve there;
Steve never showed up. He has had Gus there. Mr. LaRiche said nobody can help him.
Now they are telling him it is his problem and he has to deal with it. He has his yard
graded. Gus approved it the way it was and he still gets water all over his yard. Mr.
LaRiche said he would like somebody to do something about this.
Mr. Hovancsek said he has been to that house several tunes. He has written comments
on that particular property. He believes he talked to Mr. LaRiche's wife on one
occasion. He indicated the swale should be cut and it should be outletted on the west
side of the property. Mr. Hovancsek said he would be glad to meet with Mr. LaRiche to
show him what he should do.
Mr. LaRiche asked what Mr. Hovancsek wants him to do with this water--does he want
him to drain it out onto the sidewalk.
