40
Regular Council Meeting
2/21/94 ' . ' , .
Page Six Fire D=artment - Chief Mohr - Chief Mohr had no report.
STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Activities Committee: Mrs. Cinco asked if there was someone in the audience who wished to make a report.
Mrs. Lynch said she believes they are on hold right now.
Mayor Rinker said they have a meeting coming up on Wednesday, March 2 at 8 p.m. Police and Fire have been invited, and the various store owners as well. The meeting is
to discuss '50s Night.
Architectural Review Board - Mr. Samac said there will be an Architectural Review
Board this Thursday, February 24. They have one item on the agenda which is the
Yankee Tavern (Cooperman's.) He estimates the fire damage is around $15,000. The
previous Architectural Review Board meeting was held on January 27. Yankee Tavern
was on the agenda, but there was no disposition of their request at that time.
Board of A12peals - Mr. Samac said at the present time, there are no items for the Board
of Appeals. If something comes up, they will schedule a meeting.
Cemet xTv - Mr. Stephens said there is no report.
Citizen's Advisorv Board - Mrs. Cinco said they met at the end of January. She does not
have the minutes. They appointed Jim Mason, again, as Chairman. They discussed last
years' projects. The Mayor was there to update them on this years' projects, activities
planned, and also involving them more in community needs. The next meeting will be
in March.
Mayor Rinker said one of the ideas he has had (this is something in conjunction with
Bernie Samac) is to explore and develop a sensible housing inspection program. He
feels that Bernie will help substantially with that program. So far, Shirley Aveni has
been doing a little bit of trouble-shooting for the committee, but he would like three or
four other members to try to work up a sense of response for the community as to the
overall needs for inspection purposes, how people perceive it and any concerns
residents may have. Mayor Rinker said the bottom line is that they are trying to map
out a strategy looking to preserve their building stock, both commercial and residential.
They will working together trying to see if Citizen's Advisory can get the work out in
the community and work in conjunction with Mr. Samac so they can work up a good
inspection program.
