They probably have another week or so before the telephone and <br />computer equipment are connected and inter-connected. The office renovation is nearly <br />complete. He said if anyone would like to stop by to see what they have done to the <br />offices and the transition, they welcome them to come into the offices. <br />? M Engineer - Mr. Hovancsek said a preconstruction meeting will be held this Friday at 9 <br />CO a.m. for the Highland/SOM intersection with the contractor, A&J Paving. Mr. <br />< Hovancsek said he viewed the two water main break areas on the north side of <br />z Thornapple between Kenwood and Oakwood. He recommends that work be done by a <br />? contractor in early spring. He recommends putting some stone or asphalt in now as a <br />temporary measure. <br />Mayor Rinker said this is from the two breaks we had last year. He asked if asphalt <br />would hold anything. He asked what kind of stone Mr. Hovancsek recommends <br />putting in there that will at least stay for a while. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said he would recommend something on the order of a 3041imestone. <br />Mayor Rinker asked Mr. Hovancsek to work up the figure as soon as possible. <br />Mr. Brett asked why the Water Department isn't responsible for that repair. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said their contract says they are never responsible for a pavement <br />repair. We can do the repairs and back charge them. The Water Department never <br />does the actual repair. <br />Mr. Brett asked if there was any way the Village could get reimbursed. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said we could have the Water Department look at it and apply for <br />reimbursement. <br />Mr. Brett said the hydrant is on the agenda tonight, so he was just wondering. <br />Finance Department - Mr. Brett - said Council has been presented with the budget. He <br />advised them to read it and make any comments they have on that. He apologized to <br />the Directors. He said it takes about 2 hours for each one to print. He will be working <br />on Director's reports tomorrow, and will set aside some for the public. It is just a matter <br />of time. He will discuss other matters under the Finance Committee's report. <br />Police Department - Chief Stevens - Chief Stevens had no report.
