130
Regular Council Meeting
4/18/94
Page Eight
Mayor Rinker said there are emergency aspects to this such as police personnel and the
flagman. Frankly, I can't think of any other expenses that we need to look at. Council
can revisit it if there is a finite expenditure we need to look at. As far as other
exigencies, this is something that is in my purview, I will keep Council abreast of it. I
think we will have a lot more flexibility in dealing with it.
Mr. Fixler said my concern is that we have not really seen anything in writing from the
contractor. I want to make sure that whatever the costs are, that we have covered it in
legislation under any circumstance. That is why I am asking for the extra monies;
whether it is $20,000 or $22,000 does not really matter, but I hate to cut it at the $12,000
figure. The question is why not cap it at fifteen or ttiventy thousand--if you are not
going to spend the money, what is the difference?
Mr. Ferrante said we will cap it at $15,000.
Mr. Diemert said those who made the motion will have to agree to the $15,000. Mr.
Diemert said the amendment will be in the first whereas clause changing the $37,315 to
$15,000 and changing in Section One, the $38,000 to $15,000.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: Mr. Fixler Motion Carried
Ordinance Amended
Mr. Basile, seconded by Mr. Fixler, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 94-30.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Ordinance Enacted
(As Amended)
Mr. Ferrante said before he goes on to the next item, the chair will recess the meeting for
five minutes to permit anybody that would like to leave to leave.
Council recessed at 9:12 p.m.
Council reconvened at 9:17 p.m.
Mr. Fixler asked if he could be excused.
Mr. Ferrante said yes.
