129
intersection of S.O.M. and Highland: I am glad to see we are keeping in mind how you
Regular Council Meeting
4/18/94
Page Seven
[residents] want your tax dollars spent. If there has to be an amendment on this
ordinance, that would be acceptable to me. However, I would stipulate that I would
like the cap higher than the number just to make sure that we are able to keep this
intersection open for the duration of the project to perhaps an area instead of $38,000
? plus other expenses, we could modify it to approximately $22,000 plus any other
CY) expenses.
C'7
Q Mr. Flynn said I have no comments; I have heard from Mr. Russo and the people
z here tonight, and the Mayor and Council. I agree it is a good thing to keep open. As far
? as the cap, we will have to talk about it.
Mr. Basile, Mr. Stephens, and Mr. Busa had no comments.
Mr. Ferrante asked Mr. Diemert to read Ordinance No. 94-30 as amended to the $12,000
cap.
First Reading of Ordinance No. 94-30, entitled; "An emergency ordinance authorizing
and directing a modification to the contract, and additional sums of money, with
reference to the Highland-SOM intersection improvements." Introduced by
Councilmen Mark Fixler and Vince Busa.
Mr. Basile, seconded by Mr. Fixler, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council
requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Rules Suspended
Mr. Flynn, seconded by Mr. Busa, made a motion to amend Ordinance No. 94-30 to the
$12,000 cap.
Mayor Rinker said I am not exactly sure where Mr. Fixler gets the $22,000 figure, but
my recommendation would be we have fixed a specific amount and tied it into material
for the roadwork; $12,000 is what we discussed with Mr. Calabrese and that is the figure
I would like to limit it to. He said we talked about a flagman and is not sure what
amount to figure for that.
Mr. Diemert said sections two and three gives you the authority to do that without a
cap.
