Mr. Stephens, seconded by Mr. Ferrante, made a motion to authorize the transfer of
funds from the General Fund to the Worton Park Fund in the amount of $72,000 for
engineering fees and other expenses. Mr. Ferrante asked if the resolution should be adopted prior to authorization of this
transfer.
Mr. Diemert said it does not matter since the resolution appears on the agenda and will
be acted upon tonight.
Mr. Brett explained that because of the EPA mandate, engineering work went forward.
We are in the process of applying for funding from other agencies. We will be
proceeding with this. Design of the sewers has taken place and the design phase is
pretty much complete at this time. The engineer is due a percentage of the overall cost
of the project.
Discussion was held.
Mayor Rinker said he had asked Mr. Hovancsek to give us a bill for the work performed
to date. He said that amount is around $45,000; he has paid $15,000 of that chunk.
Mayor Rinker said he wants Council to be aware of this expenditure. He recommends
paying for the work that has been performed, as invoiced.
Mr. Fixler asked if this amount would be considered the Village's contribution to the
project.
Mayor Rinker said to say it is a contribution would be misleading.
Mr. Hovancsek explained that when that project moves forward, all but 2% of that
$72,000 will be assessed to the property owners.
