190
Special Council Meeting
7/5/94
Page Four
Mr. Basile, seconded by Mr. Ferrante, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council
requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None • Motion Carried
Rules Suspended
Mr. Ferrante, seconded by Mr. Busa, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 94-42.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Ordinance Enacted
N.O.A.C.A. Traffic Studv - Mrs. Cinco asked Mr. Diemert for a title for a resolution for
that.
Mr. Diemert said he did not know that they need to have a written resolution; perhaps :
just a motion to authorize the 19941etter of agreement on the study of the traffic on the
Wilson Mills/I-271 Corridor and recommendation stated therein.
Mr. Ferrante asked if they could eliminate [their agreement to remove] the barrier. He
will not vote for it (if it includes that.) He does not like the left turns from the gas
station and into the gas station that would occur without that barrier there.
Mr. Basile expressed his agreement with Mr. Ferrante.
Mayor Rinker said we will be enforcing any traffic crossover there. If it is not possible
for us to enforce it, then we will probably have to put it back in there. Ultimately, the
idea is to change the capability of Wilson Mills in that area and in all likelihood we
would be able to return that median strip when those extra lanes were put in, because
there will not be the same demand for left turns. The County Engineer would not
endorse something like that without being sure there is some logic to it. It is more a
question now that we indicate a support of the whole package. This is a joint proposal
with Highland Heights.
Discussion was held.
Mr. Ferrante asked why they can't eliminate that part of it.
Mayor Rinker said this is part of a study everybody has agreed to promote. Highland
Heights has approved of this.
