216
Special Council Meeting 7/25/94
Page Four
Mr. Kole said the why is because he felt they needed somebody. As far as what he has
done, he has been doing government work for the NCUA (National Credit Union
Agency) and he has a son that is a lawyer. He is not that experienced in government
work; he is a novice. He said he believes they need an honest man in government (and
he is not picking on anybody here.)
Mrs. Cinco asked what lcind of volunteer work Mr. Kole has done.
Mr. Kole said he is a volunteer for the credit untion at St. Paschals. He volunteered for a
lot of work when he worked for Parker Hannifin for their credit union. When they
needed somebody to take over the restructuring of the building on Euclid Avenue, he
volunteered for that. He has done so much volunteer work it is hard for him to
remember them all. He is an Industrial Engineer. He laid out all the work and all the
methods and standards for employees telling them how much work they had to do. gie
told the guys, he will be honest and do things the way it should be as far as he is
concerned, they may not agree with him, but that is the only way he can do it. If he tells
them they have to do 100 pieces an hour, that is what he thinks they can clo. He said
people would argue that it was impossible, but they would make 180%. They didn't
want to work any harder than they were used to working.
Mr. Kole said from Parker Hannifin he went to Elyria Ohio and laid out their plants
there and did the layout. He said they were moving out to an old A&P store and they
were having trouble fitting everything in. He not only fit everything in, he moved the
sales department in too.
Mr. Fixler asked how familiar Ivir. ICole is with the different issues that affect Ward. 4.
Mr. YCole said not as familiar as he shoulcl be. He lcnows about a lot of them, but he is
not that deep down familiar.
Mr. Fixler said tlus job requires a lot of time and asked if Mr. Kole has time available.
Mr. Kole said that is no problem; he does not work (but he does work out at Manakki.)
Mrs. Cinco said they want to get him involved.
Mr. Kole said he would not hold any bad feelings if they wanted to go with another
person.
Mrs. Cinco said if he is still interested he can run for office; there is an election in
November 1995.
