<br />215 <br />Special Council Meeting , <br />7/25/94 <br />Page Three <br />Mr. Buckholtz said he wants to assure everybody. When he decided to go for this, he <br />walked around his neighborhood to see what was going on out there. He stopped at <br />the Mayor's house; he wanted him to know and he wants each member of Council to <br />know he has great respect for the Village, the Mayor and for each member of Council. <br />Mr. Buckholtz said he will commuxucate what Council has to say back to the people of <br />CO this Ward. They need to know what is going on here. He wants to learn from Council. <br />CO He is not coming in because he wants to change the world. Mr. Buckholtz said he is his <br />CO own thinker, he has his own views. Basically, his views are not what is important; it is <br />< the people of his ward. He thinks Council needs a PR person to go into the ward and <br />z communicate with the people and be truthful. <br />2 Mr. Fixler asked Mr. Buckholtz why he wants to do this. <br />Mr. Buckholtz said it is interesting; he thinks it is time. He wants to be an example for <br />his children; he wants to serve the community, to be involved, to serve people and to be <br />up on what is happening. <br />Mr. Ferrante asked Mr. Buckholtz if he has the time for it. <br />Mr. Buckholtz said yes, absolutely. <br />Mr. Flynn asked Mr. Buckholtz what he knew about the following: the Charter, tax <br />abatement, collective bargaining, the budget,, municipal tax structure. <br />Mr. Buckholtz said he is going to get Robert's Rules of Order and would look to people <br />to direct him to things he can read. <br />Mr. Ferrante saidthe Charter is the best thing to read. <br />Mrs. Cinco asked Miss Heath to give a copy of the Charter to all candidates. <br />Mr. Buckholtz said he is for growth, he has traditional values, he wants to see the <br />Village stay as much in the way of the appeal and the charm that he has but he does not <br />live in a fishbowl, he see what is going on the world; we have to do things to stimulate <br />growth. He has a lot to learn. <br />Mr. Daniel Kole apologized for not being here earlier. He said he is a prompt person. <br />Mrs. Cinco asked him to give a brief biography and to tell why he is applying.
