The motion to recommend the rezoning request to Council failed. (It is
not Planning and Zoning's recommendation to recommend that Council approve this.)
? Mrs. Cinco said Mr. Diemert will contact the owners of that property to advise them if
M they so desire they can make a presentation to Council on their request.
co
Q Mayor Rinker said he thinks that would have to be a ballot issue.
z
? Recreation Board - Mr. Buckholtz said the Board met August 17. Discussion was held
about safety and security at the ball fields. They talked about the possibility of hiring
additional security personnel. They also discussed the summer camp situation. They
agreed their fees were much too low; they do not want to raise them anymore than they
have to. Mr. Buckholtz said he will get together with Mr. Brett to determine what is
being paid for in terms of personnel (whether it should be rolled into their budget or
whether it comes out of the general fund.) They asked about the lights. He suggested
they get current balance of what they owe on the lights. They discussed possibly hiring
a person to be a Village greens keeper handling aesthetics of the community.
1Vlayor Rinker asked if they could reschedule their meeting (set for this Wednesday,
September 21) to next Wednesday (September 28.)
Mr. Buckholtz will check with the Director.

Highland/SO1VI - Mr. Cappello said the contractor should begin addressing the items
on the punch list in the next two weeks. Those were the removal of the ripples in the
pavement.
Mayor Rinker asked if anyone had gotten any feedback from the residents in that area.
Mr. Fixler said he had asked Steve and Lt. Jay why there isn't a turn signal from S.O.M.
Center going left into Aintree North. They both indicated that the number of cars going
into that area did not qualify putting a turning signal there. The traffic at rush hour is
backing up on S.O.M.
