Organizational Meeting
1/4/93
Page Ten
Chief Mohr said his job is to bring the information to Council. It is their decision which
way they want to go. This is an opportunity to save some dollars by buying a
demonstrator.
Mr. Fixler said since the Progressive structure is not built at this time, how critical does
he feel it is to have this apparatus as opposed to waiting a year to a year and a half.
Chief Mohr said this truck is not for Progressive Insurance; it is for the rest of the town.
Mr. Fixler asked if the rest of the town is under a situation where the current we have
for the most part would cover us.
Chief Mohr said we have never had the equipment to cover the Industrial Park. This
truck is a replacement that has been in the picture of the fire department master plan.
Mr. Rinker said you have indicated that this is a savings; he is confused--he does not see
where we would be gaining that much by jumping on this.
Mr. Busa said he feels it would be a good idea to get a positive commitment from Gates
Mills and Progressive Insurance.
Mayor Pietrafese said this might be an opportunity for Chief Mohr to approach
fl'rogressive Insurance.
Chief Mohr said he thinks that should be a political statement, he strongly believes he is
not in a position to do that, nor is it his job.
Mr. Rinker said he has made it clear it is up to us to negotiate those discussions.
Mr. Rinker asked the deadline for this particular trucic.
Chief Mohr said it will be gone this week.
Mr. Rinker thanked Chief Mohr for presenting the information.
ANY OTHER MATTER THAT MAY COME BEFORE COUNCIL
Mrs. Cinco said she would like to schedule a Safety and Service Meeting for Monday at
7 p.m.
