Regular Council Meeting <br />1/18/93 <br />Page Two <br />COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT RINKER <br />Mr. Rinker said he haci no comments. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS <br />Mr. Diemert said the Planning Commission recommended, at their last meeting, that the <br />amendment to the rezoning procedure Council referred to them that is scheduled for <br />third reading this evening be enacted if Council so pleases. <br />Mr. Rinker said he understands there is a question about a variance that Planning and <br />Zoning passed on last week. <br />Chief Mohr said the fire truck was delivereci to Ocala, Florida. He and several <br />firefighters went for a one-day trip to look at the truck. They talked with the engineer <br />and salesmen and made a video tape. They are impressed with the truck. <br />Mr. Rinker said that cost was included in the contract extended by the manufacturer. <br />Mr. Brett said he forwarded to the Law Director an ordinance that must be read in title <br />tonight. He discussed this item (a clean-up ordinance for 1992 appropriations) with the <br />Finance Committee. They are looking for a meeting in February to pass the ordinance. <br />Council may review the legislation and he is open for questions. <br />Mrs. Cinco said they were looking for a special meeting at the February 1st Council <br />Caucus to cover these items. <br />Mr. Diemert reported that the Norris transaction closed Friday. The transfer went <br />smoothly and the title guarantee has been received. <br />Mr. Rinker asked the delivery date for the fire truck. <br />Chief Mohr said delivery is anticipated around Aprillst. <br />Mr. Brett said he talked with the salesperson. He said whatever Council wishes to do at <br />the time of delivery (regarding payment options.) <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Flynn asked how many men will pick up the truck and bring it back and if we are <br />covered by liability insurance.
