Regular Council Meeting
5/17/93
Page Ten
Mr. Brett said if Council goes with the trailer and the tape recorder, they are pretty
much tappecl out for the year as far as capital equipment as the budget is done right
now. At the same time, the way the bids have come in with respect to road
improvements, he is estimating they have $100,000 freed up at that point if they
maximize the use out of the SCM&R. That is assuming we will not be doing any major
road program work outside the parameters of what we have just gone out to bid for?
Mr. Hovancsek said no.
Mr. Fixler said if given the choice between something the Police Department would be
missing out on versus a concession trailer, he would be more in favor of going along
with the Police Deparhnent's request.
Discussion was held.
Mrs. Cinco said they need to prioritize what Council needs to look at for capital
improvements. She is afraid to commit to monies when in essence there might be
something else we need.
Mayor Rinker aslced Mr. Amendola what events the trailer would be used for.
Mr. Amendola said the coricerts and the Picnic.
Mrs. Cinco said she would like to hold up voting on this tonight. She asked Mr.
Amendola to keep his eyes and ears open for a nice used trailer.
Second Reading of Ordinance No. 93-3, entitled; "An emergency ordinance creating
Chapter 1175 of the Codified Ordinances pertaining to the protection of hillside
development." Introduced by Mayor and Council as a Whole. (First Reading 1/18/93)
Mr. Basile, seconded by Mr. Fixler, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council
requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Rules Suspended
Mr. Ferrante, seconded by Mr. Fixler, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 93-3.
Mrs. Cinco said this was discussed at Ordinance Review and Caucus and they are
asking this be defeated.
