She asked why Metro Park has not been prioritized
over the Thornapple/Walnut area. According to the study that was done for the Village
by Burgess and Niple, the number one priority is the Metro Park Drive area. There are
easements through her property for storm sewers. In the six years they have lived
there, they have never been maintained until either her or her husband has called either
the City or the County. The existing storm sewer drainage system is undersized and
inadequate according to Burgess and Niple. The existing drainage is creating a health
hazard for the failing septic systems as known by the County Board of Health. (She
referred to an article in the Plain Dealer yesterday.) Mrs. Sullivan said these sewers will
still be there after the Inceptor. They have_not been there for 519, 513, or 509 Zorn Lane.
They have experienced flooding over the past six years. Before they bought the
property in 1986, the Building Commissioner met with Mr. Wilson (her next-door
neighbor), Brian and herself and surveyed the pipe. He told us the pipe can handle it.
