Regular Council Meeting <br />July 19,1993 <br />Page Two <br />COMMENTS FROM MAYOR RINKER <br />Mayor Rinker thanked everyone who helped out with the Village Picnic. He said it was <br />a low-key event and proof everyone can have a good time without a lot of hoopla. He <br />hopes it will grow each year. He said the Activities Comxnittee did an excellent job <br />planning this event. <br />COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT CINCO <br />Mrs. Cinco had no comments. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said he saw Mr. Amendola about 5 p.m.; he was not feeling well and <br />did not feel he would be able to make it to the meeting tonight. <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Activities Committee - No one was present to report. <br />Architectural Review Board & Board of Appeals - Mr. Amendola was not present. <br />Cemeterv - Mr. Fixler said the new sign is up. They are working to get the lawn cut <br />more frequently. He asked if Mr. Brett would take care of the $750 yearly dues. <br />Citizen's Advisory Board - Mrs. Cinco said there was no meeting this month; they will <br />meet next Monday. . <br />Commission on Aging - Mr. Busa said the senior gentry members have been very busy <br />with cards, crafts and bocce. They recently enjoyed an indoor picnic and a trip to <br />Pittsburgh. The June 30 trip included a luncheon cruise and a ride on a cable car. Plans <br />are being made for this years' flu shot program. The cost will be $5. Registration dates <br />are September 27 and 29. They will take a fall foliage trip on October 6. <br />Safety anci Service - Mr. Fixler said they met July 12. They considered a request from <br />the Service Department for repair of a snow blower. They tentatively approved the <br />item; since then they found out the machine is from 1978. They feel the repair is <br />necessary and it went on to the Finance Committee. Mr. Fixler said there was <br />discussion held with Chief Stevens regarding a new crosswalk that will be painted in <br />front of the childrens' playground. A diagram was given to Mrs. Leppla; she will <br />forward it to Recreation. This, hopefully, will alleviate any hazards for the young <br />children.
